This role is for one of our clients Compensation: $50-$70 per hour We are seeking experienced Design Critics to evaluate, critique, and help shape how AI systems interpret and analyze visual design across various mediums. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in visual arts, design theory, criticism, or visual storytelling, who are passionate about exploring aesthetics, composition, and visual reasoning in the context of AI.
Job Requirements
- Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and critique AI-generated visual outputs across different design formats and mediums.
- Analyze aesthetics, composition, and visual reasoning to improve AI understanding of design principles.
- Collaborate asynchronously with a multidisciplinary team of designers and researchers.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of AI-driven design workflows.
- Provide structured, high-quality feedback through written critiques, reviews, and analysis.
- Who You Are
- 1+ year of professional experience in a visual, critique-based, or design-related field (including design, media, or journalism).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as:
- Art History
- Visual Arts
- Graphic Design
- Design Theory
- Architecture
- Visual Culture Studies
- Film & Media Studies
- Illustration
- Editorial Design
- Journalism (with a visual or arts focus)
- Experience writing or presenting critical analysis of visual work (e.g., essays, reviews, critiques, editorial content, or academic writing).
- Exposure to LLMs, generative AI tools, or prompt-based workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Based in U.S., Canada, New Zealand, Europe, Australia, or Brazil.
- Engagement Details
- 10–20 hours per week, with potential for increased workload based on performance.
- Work asynchronously with a globally distributed team.
