• Serves as a technical security lead and domain expert to executive and engineering leadership for large, cross-organizational initiatives • Leads the application of security techniques, threat modeling, and secure design practices to protect applications, cloud infrastructure, and product environments • Defines, champions, and drives the adoption of organization-wide security standards, best practices, and foundational architecture patterns • Develops and implements objective, quantifiable metrics to measure the effectiveness and maturity of Workiva’s application security program, reporting progress to executive stakeholders • Resolves the most ambiguous, high-impact, and systemic security challenges across the entire platform, often requiring changes to established engineering processes • Proactively identifies systemic security risks across products, services, and infrastructure • Designs and drives effective long-term security solutions and remediation strategies across diverse product areas • Anticipates emerging industry security trends, regulatory changes, and threat landscapes, translating them into proactive, preventative technical strategies • Drives the formal risk acceptance or mitigation processes for critical, high-severity vulnerabilities that carry significant compliance or business risk. • Drives broad, lasting, and foundational security changes that significantly enhance Workiva’s overall security posture, customer trust, and global compliance. • Acts as a lead security advisor to executive leadership (VP/CTO level) on platform security risks, strategic initiatives, and technical feasibility. • Regularly collaborates across product, engineering, platform, and infrastructure teams to influence secure architecture and design decisions • Engages with senior internal stakeholders and leads discussions with directors and senior directors on security topics • Defines and is fully accountable for the technical security roadmap and direction for major domains or engineering organizations without requiring external guidance.

• Meet or exceed revenue targets by: Effectively providing metal cutting solutions, by understanding current and future market trends, to meet customers’ key needs and objectives in a professional manner. • Generating, qualifying, and managing all sales leads, prospects, and new customer accounts. • Proactively managing the complete sales process, including prospecting, qualification, consultative sales meetings, product demos, pricing, terms negotiations, and sourcing. • Developing and executing strategic territory plans to deliver revenue goals with a focus on new product sales. • Providing timely answers to pre-sales technical and commercial queries from customers. • Maintaining up-to-date customer and project records in CRM to ensure a clean and healthy pipeline • Actively collaborating with internal sales and support professionals, such as Application Engineers, Channel Partner Reps, Inside Sales, and others to provide value and a positive end-to-end customer experience. • Performing online and/or onsite demonstrations of metal cutting products tailored to customers’ needs. • Conducting pre-sales workshops, webinars, and other online/onsite events within the territory. • Representing and promoting Kennametal at tradeshows, conferences, and other events within the territory. • Delivering cost savings through analysis of complex application needs and providing recommendations to support customer business need through tooling and application testing. • Preparing and presenting progress, status, and forecasting reports.

Responsibilities The Application Security Engineer plays a crucial role in securing our growing portfolio of applications. This role will focus on integrating security best practices into the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, proactively mitigating threats, and collaborating closely with developers to enhance the overall security posture of our applications.   As a subject matter expert in application security, the Application Security Engineer will lead the charge in finding and implementing innovative security solutions while ensuring the organization remains resilient against evolving threats.
