We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead our fast-paced finance team in delivering high quality accurate and on time results that are considered best in class across the global organisation. You will be a seasoned finance leader who can hit the ground running within a team that is passionate about doing things right, whilst bringing your own experience to the table to finesse and make improvements where needed. We are flexible for this role to be based out of Sydney (Erskine Park) or Brisbane (Northgate). Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance APAC, you will be responsible for reporting the group’s financial results to the Senior Finance Executives and US global HQ, as well as providing detailed analysis to assist in key business decisions. Working closely together with a team of over 30 finance professionals, having strong leadership skills is an absolute necessity with this role, enabling you to navigate the team through business change whilst also getting the monthly deliverables across the line. You will enjoy working in a complex, purpose led business that is passionately dedicated to making a positive impact to our vet customers and pet owners. Your responsibilities will include – - People leadership across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Financial Accounting teams, ensuring that individual and team performance objectives are set and delivered. - Ensuring that employee performance and engagement is maximised through training, professional development and linkage to corporate objectives. - Oversee monthly consolidated financial reporting across our Asia Pacific business that includes entities across Australia, NZ, China and Hong Kong. - Financial reporting to senior finance team members and US Head Office on a monthly and ad hoc basis. - Ensuring compliance and adequate internal controls are in place, overseeing internal and external audits. About You Ideally you will display – - Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Commerce coupled with CA/CPA qualifications. - Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role and exposure to a complex, international business environment. - A leadership approach that is supportive and tailored to different teams/individuals and one that can guide effectively through periods of change. - A strong background in implementing and maintaining efficient internal controls. - Advanced skills in MS Excel, reporting, variance analysis and providing business commentary to financial results. - Well developed interpersonal skills with an ability to adapt your communication to suit different internal stakeholders. - Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise your work in an agile way. Role Description We are seeking a hands-on Controller to own the accounting and finance function as the company scales. This is a true “build-and-own” role reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. The Controller will be the senior finance leader in the business, responsible for everything from day-to-day accounting operations to government contract compliance, FP&A, and strategic financial insight.
