• Analysis & reporting: Preparation of regular sales reports (e.g., sales volumes, customer numbers, margins, churn rates, switching movements). • Evaluation of market and competitive data and derivation of strategic recommendations. • Preparation of forecasts, budget planning and target-vs-actual analyses. • Development and maintenance of interactive dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik). • Assessment of energy tariffs, products and pricing strategies. • Support with contribution margin calculations and quote costing. • Financial monitoring of campaigns, sales promotions and marketing activities. • Further development of our sales processes and KPI systems. • Close cooperation with Sales, Marketing, Portfolio Management, Customer Service and Controlling. • Preparation of decision documents for management.

Job Requirements

  • Successfully completed degree in Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Initial professional experience in controlling, ideally in the energy sector.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a strong affinity for numbers.
  • Knowledge of energy-sector regulatory frameworks (e.g., EEG, EnWG, price components).
  • Confident user of MS Excel, BI tools and ERP systems.
  • Team player with strong communication skills and a structured, proactive working style.

Role Description We are seeking a hands-on Controller to own the accounting and finance function as the company scales. This is a true “build-and-own” role reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. The Controller will be the senior finance leader in the business, responsible for everything from day-to-day accounting operations to government contract compliance, FP&A, and strategic financial insight. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys autonomy, and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves. Remote is fully supported; candidates local to NYC are welcome but not required.
