Summary of Position This role supports embedded electronic design and the product development lifecycle. The engineer will contribute to both hardware and firmware activities, participating in design, testing, and troubleshooting from concept development through production. The position involves close collaboration with cross‑functional global teams to deliver reliable, high‑quality products. Key Responsibilities - Contribute to the design and development of consumer electronic products from concept through production. - Support development of electrical specifications aligned with product requirements and customer needs. - Support review and development of schematics, BOMs, PCB layouts, and test plans. - Develop and execute electrical test plans to verify design functionality and performance. - Support prototype bring-up and verification of electrical hardware during development builds. - Troubleshoot electrical design issues through testing, analysis, and root cause analysis. - Perform basic circuit analysis and simulation to support electrical design and troubleshooting. - Participate in design reviews and provide input to improve product performance and reliability. - Work with cross-functional teams including product development, quality, safety, and compliance to ensure electrical designs meet product requirements and program objectives. - Coordinate electrical engineering activities with global engineering teams to support timely delivery of hardware milestones. - Support compliance and certification testing, including investigation and resolution of EMI/EMC and electrical safety issues. - Develop cost estimates from EBOMs and analyze feature‑to‑cost tradeoffs. Required Qualifications - BS in Electrical Engineering. - 0 to 2 years of experience in embedded hardware development. - Foundational experience with circuit design including component selection, circuit design, and circuit analysis. - Exposure to embedded firmware development for microcontrollers, including basic design, testing, and debugging, and use of Arduino for prototyping. - Experience with schematic capture, BOM generation, and PCB layout for prototype development. - Ability to operate effectively in fast‑paced development environments with evolving requirements. - Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities. - Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration. Preferred Qualifications - MS in Electrical Engineering. - Internship or co-op experience with embedded circuit design. - SPICE simulation for circuit validation and analysis. - C programming for embedded firmware. Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is displayed below. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. The Electrical Engineer/Designer will collaborate will with staff to create accurate technical drawings and contribute to the overall design process for our MEP Engineering firm which focuses on the design of systems for business, retail, housing, education, and entertainment industries. This position can be considered for a remote role. Key Responsibilities: - Performs calculations and designs engineering systems with a high degree of independence - Prepares basic to advanced electrical system layouts, detailed drawings and schematics - Coordinate design requirements and decisions with other disciplines, BIM department, and project management - Performs research and makes recommendations as to the feasibility of systems or equipment.
