About this role Business Overview Understanding and managing risk is central to BlackRock’s investment approach. The Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA) group provides independent oversight of the firm’s investment and enterprise risks by delivering risk management, tailored advice, and analytics that support better business and investment outcomes. RQA partners closely with investment teams across the firm, combining quantitative analysis, market insight, and a multidisciplinary skillset to tackle real-world investment challenges. Our work spans top down and bottom up risk oversight, helping portfolio managers build risk aware portfolios and develop risk and portfolio analytics using Aladdin’s capabilities. BlackRock Luxembourg S. A. is BlackRock’s Luxembourg Asset Management entity authorized by the CSSF, managing UCITS and AIFs. The entity is seeking to hire a Risk Manager based in Luxembourg. The Risk Manager as a member of the local risk team and together with the assistance of the broader global Risk and Quantitative Analysis group, will be responsible for ensuring that all applicable risks pertaining to the funds managed by the entity are monitored and managed at all times. Key Responsibilities: - Assist the Head of Risk Management in the implementation and maintenance of local risk management policies and procedures and adequate risk management systems to identify, measure, manage and monitor risks appropriately and on an on-going basis. - Implement and maintain local risk management policies and procedures and adequate risk management systems to identify, measure, manage and monitor risks appropriately and on an on-going basis. - Provide regular reporting to the management company on the current levels of risk incurred by each managed Fund and the compliance of each managed Fund with the relevant risk limit system. - Assist in preparation, aggregation and quality control of risk related data which is needed for various reporting purposes. - As a member of the global RQA function, participation in global and/or regional risk management initiatives. Qualifications - Minimum working experience of at least 2 years within the risk management or risk reporting function of a financial services organization. - Competent in the understanding of the UCITS and/or AIFMD requirements. - A high level of communication and presentation skills and an ability to build relationships across multiple internal stakeholders. - Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and cultural awareness. - Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify problems and develop solutions. - Fluent spoken and written English. - University degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related studies.
