Senior Project Engineer

Job Description Summary The Senior Project Engineer will direct and coordinate the engineering and design of assigned projects along with technical aspects of the contract. They will coordinate timely decision making on project technical issues relying on internal technical authorities as necessary. Also, they will establish & manage the technical interface between all parties involved in the project including engineers, customers, and subcontractors. Job Description Essential Responsibilities: - Work with functional engineering teams' to build estimates, schedules, and change orders - Coordinate and provide technical and delivery leadership for the project - Be accountable for engineering interfaces with multiple engineering disciplines, business project management, subcontractors, and customers - Provide oversight for subcontractor engineering work on assigned projects - Define critical technical project issues and ensure their timely resolution - Identify technical risks and implement risk mitigation plans - Ensure engineering activities are performed in compliance with customer, internal, and regulatory requirements - Support commercial and marketing opportunities for Engineering including generating technical portions of proposals - Keep project and engineering management advised of project progress, performance, and resource utilization with particular attention to delays, adverse trends, errors and omissions - Work with Chief Consulting Engineers to coordinate Engineering Design Reviews as required for successful completion of the project - Review engineering performance on the project to ensure quality, conformance with design process, procedures and completeness of engineering tasks - Promptly review Design Change notices, identify change order candidates, segregate cost collection, and assist the Project Manager in pertinent aspects of change order management - Perform Responsible Configuration Management reviews as required for assigned projects. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college or university - Minimum of 8 years of power industry project management, design, or operation experience Eligibility Requirements: - The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered. - Comfortable with less than 10% travel. - This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government. Desired Characteristics: - Background in mechanical and/or civil discipline work. - Knowledge of nuclear business products, business processes, customers, and competitive environment - Demonstrated ability in meeting project budget, schedule, and quality commitments - Excellent Leadership, influencing, communication, and presentation skills - Experience working with Government contracts and contracting requirements - Experience in boiling water or advanced reactors and/or equivalent technical environment - Prior experience working with architect engineer / subcontractors - IT / Computer competency - Proven ability to think strategically, be creative and move quickly - Established credibility with peers and managers based on experience - Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems - Primavera project scheduling tool experience - Graduate of GE leadership program (PMLP, JOLP, or similar) - Six Sigma training (BB, DFSS, etc.) (GE Employees only) For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position, the pay range for this position is between $120,000 and 180,000$ CAD. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. For more information, visit www.Synergbiopharma.com POSITION OVERVIEW: Syner-G is seeking a Senior Process Engineer with 8+ years of experience in oral solid dose (OSD) pharmaceutical manufacturing to lead process optimization and commercial manufacturing support activities. This role is centered on improving and sustaining robust OSD processes across granulation, compression, coating, and packaging operations. The Senior Process Engineer will support technology transfer from development to commercial manufacturing, troubleshoot complex process and yield issues, and provide technical leadership during PPQ and continued process verification activities. Acting as a key technical partner to MSAT, Manufacturing, QA, and Engineering, this individual will drive process robustness, efficiency, and compliance across client programs. WORK LOCATION: Travel to client sites may be required up to 100%, based on project demands and client expectations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented or changed as necessary.) - Lead process optimization for oral solid dose manufacturing processes, including granulation, compression, coating, and packaging. - Support technology transfer activities from development and pilot operations into commercial manufacturing, ensuring process scalability, robustness, and reproducibility. - Troubleshoot process deviations, yield losses, equipment challenges, and cycle time constraints in commercial OSD manufacturing environments. - Provide technical support for process validation activities, including PPQ execution and continued process verification. - Collaborate closely with MSAT, Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues and implement sustainable process improvements. - Develop and maintain process documentation such as process descriptions, equipment specifications, risk assessments, and technical reports. - Conduct data analysis and performance trending to identify root causes, variability drivers, and improvement opportunities. - Support commissioning, qualification, and start-up activities for OSD manufacturing equipment. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, yield, cost reduction, and GMP compliance. - Mentor and support junior engineers by providing technical guidance and process expertise. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Education - BS or MS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience - 8+ years of experience in oral solid dose pharmaceutical manufacturing. - Hands-on experience with tablet presses, granulators, fluid bed systems, and coating equipment. - Demonstrated experience supporting tech transfer and commercial manufacturing operations. - Direct involvement in PPQ, continued process verification, and commercial process support. - Proven ability to collaborate in cross-functional GMP environments.
