Financial Controller
A Square Group (ASG)
• Overseeing the company’s accounting operations, including preparation of financial statements. • Maintenance of a robust system of accounting records. • Implementation of internal controls and budgeting processes. • Overseeing cash management and risk management activities. • Coordinating tax planning with external tax advisors. • Managing operations of the accounting department. • Overseeing a team of accounting professionals. • Ensuring accounts payable are processed accurately and timely. • Overseeing accounts receivable and payroll processing. • Maintaining organized and compliant accounting records and filing system. • Conducting internal audits and coordinating with external auditors.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience with a major government contracting company or division of a large government contractor corporation.
- DCAA & GAAP experience.
- Deltek Costpoint and QuickBooks experience.
- Active CPA license a plus.

Responsibilities: - Lead end to end finance operations, including month-end close and management reporting - Ensure accurate revenue recognition, reconciliations, and COGS/inventory control - Build and analyse contribution margins to identify opportunities and risks - Manage cash flow, runway, and working capital for a growing business - Drive scalable finance systems, process improvements, and automation - Partner with leadership to provide actionable insights and support strategic decisions Key Requirements: - Professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CPA/CA/CIMA or equivalent) - Act as the main point of contact when liaising with legal representatives regarding contracts and agreements with suppliers and distributors. - Start-up/scale-up experience strongly preferred (Series A–C) - Strong understanding of ecommerce and FMCG/CPG finance mechanics - Advanced Excel/Sheets skills and experience building forecasts/models - High ownership, self-starter, comfortable building structure from ambiguity Additional Experience: - Big 4 / external audit background - Experience with Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar - Multi-entity / cross-border tax experience - BI tooling (Power BI / Looker / Tableau) experience - Experience extracting and analysing data from Shopify In return we are offering: - Competitive salary ranging from £70,000 to £90,000, depending on skills and experience - Remote working with the flexibility to visit our Central London offices twice a month - 25 days annual leave (pro rata) plus bank holidays - The chance to be a key contributor in a small, ambitious, and highly collaborative team - Opportunity to build and scale finance processes from the ground up - Influence strategic decisions and make a direct impact on growth and profitability Interested? • Supporting the offshore activities • Engineering and Site support • Monitoring offshore projects • Performing troubleshooting (online and offline) when a fault occurs on one turbine or in case of a grid outage • Reporting Fault analysis and tracking
• Analyze monthly reporting from Business Units • Monitor, consolidate and analyze monthly Business Unit performance using management accounting • Contribute to the analysis of operational entities’ performance against their targets • Participate in the preparation of the budgeting process • Develop and deploy budget construction tools to support managers • Be proactive: identify improvements to the department’s processes and tools • Validate major laboratory investments in line with the budget • Assist in preparing funding requests to the group • Provide daily support to operational teams and respond to their various requests
