Job Description

Assistant Financial Controller

CloudFactory

At CloudFactory, we are a mission-driven team passionate about unlocking the potential of AI to transform the world. By combining advanced technology with a global network of talented people, we make unusable data usable, driving real-world impact at scale.  More than just a workplace, we’re a global community founded on strong relationships and the belief that meaningful work transforms lives. Our commitment to earning, learning, and serving fuels everything we do as we strive to connect one million people to meaningful work and build leaders worth following. Our Culture At CloudFactory, we believe in building a workplace where everyone feels empowered, valued, and inspired to bring their authentic selves to work. We are: - Mission-Driven: We focus on creating economic and social impact. - People-Centric: We care deeply about our team’s growth, well-being, and sense of belonging. - Innovative: We embrace change and find better ways to do things together. - Globally Connected: We foster collaboration between diverse cultures and perspectives. If you’re passionate about innovation, collaboration, and making a real impact, we’d love to have you on board! About the Role CloudFactory is looking for an Assistant Controller who thrives on making the complex simple. This is a hands-on leadership role at the center of a five-entity international group spanning the US, UK, Germany, Nepal, and Kenya. You will own the global close, drive consolidation reporting under IFRS, and lead a talented, distributed accounting team — all while pushing the function forward through automation, AI-enabled workflows, and smarter use of NetSuite. This is not a role for someone who just wants to close the books. We want someone who connects the dots across entities and business lines — someone who sees a reconciliation break and asks why, not just where. We want someone who leans into automation and AI to eliminate complexity and manual processes.  You will report to the Group Financial Controller and work closely with the CFO in a private equity-backed environment where pace, rigor, and accountability are the norm. What You Will Own Global Close & Consolidation •   Lead the Accounting department at CloudFactory with day-to-day accounting, along with periodic closing, reconciliation, and statutory filing. This role will be responsible for books for the USA, UK, Germany, and coordinate with the accounting team in Nepal and Kenya to deliver timely and accurate financial reports. •   Full ownership of the consolidated P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis. Manage intercompany eliminations and multi-currency consolidation, including FX translation, remeasurement, and their impact on financial reporting •   Ensure consolidated reporting is delivered accurately and on time to senior leadership  Financial Reporting & Accuracy •   Deliver timely, precise financial reporting under IFRS with a commitment to the highest standards of accuracy •   Prepare and present variance analysis, trends, and business insights to leadership •   Assist in tax preparation across jurisdictions, including VAT filings and HMRC communications in the UK, coordinating with external tax advisors •   Support annual group audit coordination with local teams in Germany, Nepal, and Kenya; serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors Distributed Team Leadership •   Supervise and mentor a global team of approximately 8 across AP, AR, and general accounting in multiple countries •   Set clear priorities, coach remotely, and build accountability across time zones and cultures (some travel may be necessary) •   Develop team members through structured goal-setting, feedback, and professional development NetSuite Optimization & AI-Forward Workflows •   Act as the finance team’s NetSuite power user — identify improvement opportunities, build automation, streamline workflows, and eliminate manual effort •   Champion AI tools, automation, and advanced workflows to reduce complexity, minimize repetitive tasks, and free the team to focus on value-added analysis and insight •   Drive process transformation: build simple, scalable, and effective financial processes from the ground up Payroll & Treasury •   Coordinate US payroll (Rippling) and UK payroll (Payfit) processing with internal and external stakeholders •   Support cash forecasting, manage banking relationships, and ensure liquidity visibility across offices

Job Requirements

  • What We Are Looking For
  • Qualifications
  • ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification
  • FRS expertise required; familiarity with US GAAP is a plus
  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills; familiarity with prompt-writing a plus
  • Core Experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-currency, multi-entity consolidations across international jurisdictions
  • Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop accounting teams across geographies in a distributed, remote environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with NetSuite, ideally including configuration, reporting, and workflow automation
  • Mindset & Skills
  • Critical and analytical thinker: you solve problems, challenge assumptions, connect patterns across data sets, and bring structure to ambiguity
  • Technology-forward: genuine enthusiasm for AI, automation, and modern finance tooling, with a track record of reducing manual work and improving output quality
  • Commitment to accuracy: you care about getting the numbers right and building processes that make precision the default, not the exception
  • Strong communicator: ability to translate financial complexity into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders
