Head of Special Projects
JuicywayJuicyway makes it easy for everyone to participate in the global economy
Role Description The problem you'll be solving: - Building payments infrastructure for a continent is not a clean problem. - The market is fragmented; regulations shift, and edge cases are endless. - This role exists to find and fix inefficiencies in the business. You will sit at the center of the business, working directly with the CEO on the highest-priority operational and strategic challenges we face. The remit is deliberately wide because the need is wide. You go where the leverage is highest, own it completely, and see it through to the end. No two months will look the same in this role. But here is the shape of the work: - Leading market expansion efforts from end to end — country selection, regulatory groundwork, operational setup, and launch. - Owning strategic initiatives that don't fit neatly inside any one function. - Walking into any department, auditing how it works, and calling out what's slowing us down. - Building internal systems, workflows, and operational infrastructure for a fast-growing company. - Producing data-driven analysis that informs our biggest decisions — market sizing, competitive positioning, performance diagnostics. - Supporting strategic planning, goal setting, and performance management at the leadership level. - Helping every team rethink how they work — bringing AI and automation into processes. - Identifying new business opportunities and owning the earliest, hardest stages of turning them into real things. Qualifications - 5 to 10 years in operations, strategy, product, revenue ops, or consulting. - At least two years inside a fast-growth startup. - Strong analytical foundation — comfortable getting into the data yourself. - Proven track record of shipping things with measurable impact. - Strong communication skills to make complex situations legible to anyone. Requirements - Experience operating in fast-moving environments — startups, consulting, ops, product, strategy. - Think from first principles; ask whether something should exist at all. - AI-native in practice; using it to work faster and think better. - Care about building systems that serve disenfranchised businesses. Benefits - Competitive pay. - Meaningful equity at an early stage. - Real flexibility on hours, location, and work style. - A direct line to the CEO — involvement in decision-making. Company Description Juicyway was started by Ife and Justin. We processed our first (nine dollar) transaction in November 2021. A few years and a lot of transactions later, we have come to terms with our true role in enabling African businesses to make compliant global payments cheap and fast. As we come out of stealth, we are convinced that we are the vanguard of a new payments paradigm, designed for Africans but global in its reach.
