An overview of this roleAs a Senior Analytics & Insights Analyst on the Finance team within Analytics & Insights, you'll turn complex, noisy data into clear, actionable insights that support decisions across GitLab. You'll work with broad and sometimes imperfect datasets. You'll use tools like SQL and business intelligence platforms to extract the signal from the noise, validate data quality, and build dashboards and analyses that give Finance and other partner teams a reliable view of business performance. You'll report to the Senior Manager, Analytics & Insights and work as part of a small, focused team. Together with stakeholders in Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Product, you'll answer data-centric business questions, support key initiatives, and enable more data-driven planning and reporting across the company. Some examples of our projects: - Supporting Finance with analytics and reporting for quarterly earnings call preparation - Building cross-functional dashboards that align business objectives with clear, measurable KPIs What You’ll Do - Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Product partners to frame data-centric business questions and deliver clear, actionable insights. - Analyze complex, cross-functional datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that inform strategic and operational decisions. - Support Finance leadership with analytics and reporting for key initiatives, including quarterly earnings call preparation and other executive priorities. - Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports that make financial and business performance easy to understand for non-technical stakeholders. - Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency by validating inputs, troubleshooting discrepancies, and partnering with Data team members on fixes. - Present complex analyses in a simple, compelling way through written narratives, visualizations, and live discussions with stakeholders. - Identify data gaps and define clear requirements for new data, logging, and measurement in partnership with the Data team and product management. - Drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making within the Finance Analytics & Insights team by proactively sharing insights and best practices. What You’ll Bring - Experience working in a similar analytics and insights role within a B2B SaaS environment, ideally focused on finance or revenue-related topics. - Proficiency in SQL and in using business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Tableau to build and maintain dashboards and reports. - Background in developing, validating, and maintaining analytics datasets, dashboards, and recurring reporting with strong attention to data quality and accuracy. - Ability to translate complex, ambiguous data into clear, structured insights that connect business objectives, key performance indicators, and actionable recommendations. - Skill in identifying data gaps, defining clear requirements, and partnering with data and product teams to improve data capture and underlying data structures. - Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including presenting findings to non-technical audiences and collaborating with partners in Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Product. - Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and asynchronous environment, managing multiple priorities and driving work independently. About the team You'll join our small, focused Finance analytics team of three within Analytics & Insights. We work asynchronously across regions, using shared dashboards and documentation to keep work transparent and collaborative. We focus on improving data quality, strengthening financial and operational reporting, and enabling consistent, data-informed decisions as GitLab grows. The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of the United States only. This range is intended to reflect the role's base salary rate in locations throughout the US. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, alignment with market data, and geographic location. The primary objective of the consultancy is to update the MENA Country Factsheets to incorporate the latest available indicator values from regional and global databases including the SDGs. The consultancy will also support the preparation of regional key facts on each goal area in the new Strategic Plan and contribute to the development of plans for consolidating regional data assets between MENARO and ECARO. Scope of Work: Data hold more potential than ever to shape children’s lives and living conditions. They are an essential public good to inform and assess the effectiveness of policy, programming and advocacy to advance the realization of children’s rights. UNICEF invests strategically to make timely and quality data on the situation of children available to policymakers, child rights advocates, development practitioners, researchers and civil society. The UNICEF Middle East and North Africa’s established the MENA Data Portal in 2022 which provides a compilation of high-quality, internationally comparable statistics reflecting the situation of children in the 20 countries of the Middle East and North Africa, including regional averages. The Data Portal comprises a Data Warehouse and set of Country Factsheets. The Data Warehouse contains time-series data for over 150 indicators, covering various child rights and well-being domains and disaggregated by sex, urban/rural residence and wealth quintiles where possible. The SDMX Data Warehouse is automatically updated with the latest available estimates from UNICEF and other UN agencies. The MENA Data Portal features Country Factsheets framed around child rights to give an overview of the most recent child-related statistics for each country. The country factsheets were last updated in late 2024 and include indicators drawn from a range of sources and narrative highlights, not all of which can currently be automated. In 2027, UNICEF’s MENA and Europe and Central Asia (ECA) regional offices will be consolidated into a new broader region covering 39 programme countries. The consultancy will also contribute to conceptualization of a plan for integrating the existing MENARO and ECARO data assets.
