• Design, develop and maintain finance and regulatory reports and dashboards using SQL and BI tools to serve Finance, Compliance teams. • Perform deterministic reconciliations, investigate variances, identify root causes and propose corrective actions to close gaps between ledgers, payment processors and custody systems. • Prepare datasets and supporting documentation for regulatory reporting, ensuring controls and auditability. • Define data quality checks, implement monitoring rules and document lineage for critical finance and compliance metrics. • Automate repetitive tasks and reporting workflows to reduce manual interventions and improve timeliness. • Work closely with Finance, Compliance, Product and Data Engineering to translate business requirements into analytic specifications and prioritise deliverables. • Deliver clear, actionable analyses for budgeting, forecasting, regulatory queries and incident investigations. • Maintain clear documentation of methodologies, assumptions and data sources to support audits and regulatory reviews. • Share knowledge, promote analytical best practices.
Job Requirements
- 4+ years in data analysis, finance analytics or regulatory reporting within payments, fintech, banking or related financial services.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with BI/reporting tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with modern data stacks and data transformation tools (dbt, Airflow/Prefect or similar) is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of general ledger concepts, reconciliations, cut‑offs and basic accounting principles.
- Experience supporting regulatory regimes relevant to payments/crypto is a plus.
- Experience implementing data checks, reconciliation frameworks and documenting controls for auditability.
- Detail‑oriented, pragmatic and able to investigate complex data issues to produce clear conclusions and remediation plans.
- Excellent written English.
- Comfortable with scripting (Python, SQL procedural or similar) to automate ETL, validation and reporting tasks.
- Practical understanding of data protection, RBAC and privacy considerations in a regulated environment.

The primary objective of the consultancy is to update the MENA Country Factsheets to incorporate the latest available indicator values from regional and global databases including the SDGs. The consultancy will also support the preparation of regional key facts on each goal area in the new Strategic Plan and contribute to the development of plans for consolidating regional data assets between MENARO and ECARO. Scope of Work: Data hold more potential than ever to shape children’s lives and living conditions. They are an essential public good to inform and assess the effectiveness of policy, programming and advocacy to advance the realization of children’s rights. UNICEF invests strategically to make timely and quality data on the situation of children available to policymakers, child rights advocates, development practitioners, researchers and civil society. The UNICEF Middle East and North Africa’s established the MENA Data Portal in 2022 which provides a compilation of high-quality, internationally comparable statistics reflecting the situation of children in the 20 countries of the Middle East and North Africa, including regional averages. The Data Portal comprises a Data Warehouse and set of Country Factsheets. The Data Warehouse contains time-series data for over 150 indicators, covering various child rights and well-being domains and disaggregated by sex, urban/rural residence and wealth quintiles where possible. The SDMX Data Warehouse is automatically updated with the latest available estimates from UNICEF and other UN agencies. The MENA Data Portal features Country Factsheets framed around child rights to give an overview of the most recent child-related statistics for each country. The country factsheets were last updated in late 2024 and include indicators drawn from a range of sources and narrative highlights, not all of which can currently be automated. In 2027, UNICEF’s MENA and Europe and Central Asia (ECA) regional offices will be consolidated into a new broader region covering 39 programme countries.
