As a web engineer on the UI Platform team, you will help evolve Reddit’s cross-platform design system and UI architecture that powers experiences across the company. You Have: - 6+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of leading cross-functional projects and delivering solutions with broad product impact. - Experience building and maintaining shared UI platforms, such as design systems, component libraries, or frontend infrastructure used across multiple teams. - Deep experience with modern web platform engineering: - TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, bundlers (e.g., Vite, Rollup, Webpack), and Node performance observability tools. - Experience with one or more front-end web frameworks such as React, Vue or Angular or Lit. - A strong understanding of UI architecture and performance, including designing scalable component APIs, improving rendering performance, and optimizing bundle size or asset delivery. - Familiarity with web accessibility best practices (WCAG) and an interest in building components, tooling, or documentation that help teams ship accessible experiences by default. - You embody Reddit’s core value of “Evolve” — you embrace ambiguity, seek feedback, and continuously improve your craft and the platform you help build.
