Manager, Project Management – Power
Ulteig
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture that supports retention, connectivity, and engagement • Coach, mentor, and develop staff through training, career development discussions and growth opportunities • Provide direction and leadership to Project Management Supervisors, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators in alignment with department and organizational performance goals. • Monitor and approve team budgets, including revenue, profitability, and indirect expenses (training, recognition, events, etc.) • Lead regular team and 1:1 meetings, quarterly reviews, and performance evaluations, including merit, bonus, and promotion decisions • Oversee workforce planning and resource forecasting across your team to ensure proper staffing alignment with business needs. • Champion the use of Ulteig project management tools, standards, and industry best practices • Support complex and large portfolio of programs as a senior leader of project execution • Manage our largest and most complex, multi-disciplinary projects from initiation through close-out including engineering, field services, procurement, and construction management scopes for the Power Lifeline Sector • Coordinate matrixed execution teams to ensure resources are focused on the right activity at the right time to meet project schedules • Ensure compliance with Ulteig’s governance policies and procedures
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of project experience, with significant experience in managing engineering projects, power industry experience highly preferred
- Technical engineering knowledge, with the ability to understand and coordinate solutions for complex engineering challenges required
- PE, PMP, CCM or equivalent certification preferred
- Experience in leading, managing, and developing other Project Management Professionals preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams, including project and program managers, engineering, operations, and subconsultants
- Must be analytical, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic and collaborative attitude
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, staff, and leadership
- Excellent presentation and verbal/written communications skills
- Proven experience in Microsoft Office applications and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Planview Adaptive Work), with advanced understanding and experience of scheduling and cost planning
- Ability to travel (25%) to engage with team members, clients, and/or for team, department, or company level events
- Must have authorization to work permanently in the US.
