Role Description Behindthechair.com is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and driven Social Media & Design Associate to join our team. You will play a key role in executing our social media strategy and producing the visual content that powers it across platforms to increase brand awareness, engage our audience, and drive business goals. This is a dual-role position: strong social media execution + strong visual design. If you do not have both, this role will not be the right fit. This role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes social media, stays ahead of digital trends, and has a passion for storytelling and content creation—and can consistently bring those ideas to life through polished, on-brand creative. Success in this position goes beyond simply creating and posting content—the ideal candidate will take the time to truly understand our businesses (Behindthechair.com, BTC-University, and ARC Scissors), immerse themselves in our socials, shows and educational platforms and consistently bring creative ideas to the table. Equally important: you must be able to visually execute those ideas—turning concepts into high-performing creative across social, ads, and promotional assets with minimal direction. What You’ll Do: - Assist in planning, creating, and scheduling content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. - Collaborate with our internal teams to create visual and written content aligned with brand guidelines. - Design and produce social-first creative assets including carousels, story graphics, ad creatives, and promotional visuals that support content and campaign goals. - Monitor social media channels daily for engagement opportunities, trends, and community interaction. - Respond to comments, DMs, and mentions in a timely and professional manner to foster community growth. - Track and analyze key performance metrics and generate regular performance reports. - Stay up-to-date on emerging social media trends, tools, and best practices. - Assist in influencer and brand partnership campaigns. - Support paid social campaigns by coordinating assets and tracking performance. - Quickly translate ideas, captions, and campaign concepts into clean, engaging visuals that align with our brand. - Continuously refine creative based on performance—understanding what types of visuals drive engagement, clicks, and conversions. - Contribute ideas to content planning and campaign brainstorming sessions. Qualifications - 1–2 years of experience in social media marketing or digital content creation (internships included). - Strong understanding of all major social media platforms and their best practices. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where internal and external communication moves quickly; strong prioritization is essential. - Strong graphic design skills—this is a required part of the role, not a secondary skill. - Proficiency in tools such as Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite, with the ability to create clean, modern, on-brand social content quickly. - Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hubspot, Later, Hootsuite, Sprout Social). - A strong eye for layout, typography, and visual hierarchy—especially in social-first formats like carousels and short-form content. - A creative eye and a passion for visual storytelling. - Bonus: Video editing skills and/or familiarity with TikTok and Reels content trends. - Highly organized, able to multitask, and meet tight deadlines. - Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. - Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. - A passion for social media, a positive attitude, and a desire to grow and innovate!
