Kentro is hiring for a seasoned CMDB Data Architect with expertise in the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) to support our VA - End Point Support and Operations Monitoring (ESOM) contract across the United States. The VA is responsible for providing comprehensive onsite and remote support to IT customers across all VA Administrations and special program offices, including direct support of over 340,000 VA employees and thousands of contractors who use government-furnished IT equipment and infrastructure. The VA provides support staff across 100+ CONUS and OCONUS locations, including difficult-to-accommodate locales, such as high cost of living or under-supported economic areas, where VA offices or facilities may be located and require onsite services.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) while ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards. This role requires a deep understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks and a proven track record in CMDB architecture and data model design. Location: This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours. Responsibilities - Design, implement, and manage the CMDB architecture in alignment with industry standards and best practices. - Develop and maintain the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) to ensure accurate representation of IT services, assets, and relationships. - Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to define and enforce CMDB policies, procedures, and governance. - Ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency within the CMDB through regular audits and validation processes. - Integrate CMDB with various ITSM tools and other enterprise systems to support automation and process improvements. - Create and maintain detailed documentation, including CMDB architecture, data models, policies, and procedures. - Provide guidance and support to IT teams and end-users for effective CMDB utilization and compliance with CSDM. - Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and awareness of CMDB and CSDM best practices. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business Administration (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education). - 8 years of database management experience with proven experience as a CMDB Data Architect, with a strong focus on the Common Service Data Model (CSDM). - In-depth knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks, such as ITIL. - Hands-on experience with CMDB and ITSM tools, such as ServiceNow or similar platforms. - Proficiency in data modeling, database design, and data integration techniques. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address data quality issues. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.  Preferred Qualifications:  - Certifications in ITIL, ServiceNow, or related disciplines are highly desirable. - Experience in large-scale CMDB implementations and migrations. - Familiarity with cloud-based ITSM solutions and integrations. - Knowledge of IT Asset Management (ITAM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM) principles. - Scripting and automation skills for data import/export and transformation processes.
