Job Description Summary The Plant Layout and Program Integration team is a cross-functional engineering discipline responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight of a technical team of engineers and designers responsible for the systems, structures & components design layout of the BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Nuclear Island, Turbine Island and Balance of Plant into the 3D BIM Model. The Lead Engineer – Plant Layout and Program Integration performs a key role within GE Hitachi’s Plant Systems Integration teams which focus on development of new advanced nuclear reactor projects. You will be responsible for engineering design support within a team environment, working with other disciplines, project/product stakeholders, partner organizations and suppliers to advance plant conceptual and detailed design and successfully deliver a new plants project. You will be part of a large team working on integrating and coordinating multi-discipline activities to support the design of safe and economically superior reactor designs by employing a balance of cutting edge and proven technologies and will be responsible for development and implementation of licensing and technical requirements along with the associated work processes for advanced work in new nuclear plants. Job Description Essential Responsibilities - Conducts component and system integration with overall new nuclear plant design. All activities that span multiple components and systems that are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance, operability, and design to cost. - Perform identification of verification and validation (V&V) requirements at the plant, system, and component level. - Manages interface between systems, components, and project/product management organizations. - Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline.
