Role Description Our client, a security company with one of the headquarters in Malmo, Sweden, is seeking a Senior Database Specialist who will help provide great IT Services to the company. The role is key to serve the company with good IT services and maintaining our common IT-platform. Our eco network of challenges involves working with internally developed services, 3rd party products as well as microservices and databases. We will trust your expertise to find room for database improvements and will then give you the tools to plan and deploy these improvements. You will be working with database tuning, installation, configuration and maintenance. In our team, you will get the opportunity to make a positive difference for our customers. Responsibilities: - Oversee the administration, installation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise databases such as SAP ASE (Sybase), MSSQL, and Oracle, ensuring optimal performance and availability. - Identify areas for improvement in database performance, implementing tuning strategies and enhancements to optimize database operations. - Conduct root cause analysis and advanced troubleshooting for database-related issues in large-scale environments, ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime. - Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, changes, and procedures, while actively sharing knowledge and best practices with team members to foster collaboration and skill development. - Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing support and expertise on database-related queries, and contributing to a positive team environment. - Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members, providing regular updates on database performance, issues, and improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Qualifications - Several years of relevant experience in Database Administration of SAP ASE (Sybase), MSSQL, Oracle or equivalent database. - Database Administration on Linux/UNIX, and able to do advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis in large scale environments. - In-depth knowledge of managing an enterprise database infrastructure. - Structured personality and good documentation skills. - Fluent communication in English. - Bachelor's or Master's Degree of Science in Computer Engineering or related field.
