Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (preferred) or related field.
  • Understanding of software engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in front-end technologies including React, Next.js and Node.js.
  • Experience in API design and development.
  • Experience in relational databases, preferably SQL Server.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with a bias for action, a passion for innovation and continuous learning.

What you will do: - Work with a group of 6 engineers and 1 lead in a “Squad”, focusing on core pillars of the product such as the onboarding, discover, chat, or Member care experiences. - Build experiments, features and fix issues aligned with the goals of your Squad. - Support engineers within your Squad and the wider engineering team, by sharing your knowledge of fullstack development. - Align with peers across the business to ensure a fully supported user experience, including required “back office” tooling, security/compliance features, and data/analytics capabilities. - Monitor and review current systems and services, and recommend and implement changes to address technical debt often. Qualifications - Extensive backend development experience, ideally with TypeScript. - Solid understanding of AWS technologies. - Well versed in development best practices, especially in regards to security and potential attack vectors. - Working knowledge of frontend development including the platform specifics of Android and iOS. Requirements - Experience working on scalable (1M MAU) and distributed systems, focused on performance and reliability. - Familiarity with micro services, event driven architecture, message queues and serverless functions. - Experience with React Native mobile app, capable of debugging issues and contributing to features. - Comfortable with the suite of services offered by modern cloud providers such as AWS. - Value collaboration and see code reviews as a chance to learn and improve together. - Understand the importance of delivering value to our Members, not just shipping code.
