• Orchestrate Delivery: Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent custom software solutions, ensuring rigorous adherence to scope, budget, and timeline within the Canvas LMS ecosystem. • Strategic Relationship Management: Cultivate high-trust partnerships with clients, managing expectations through proactive communication and sophisticated change management to maintain project integrity. • Cross-Functional Leadership: Drive collaboration between external stakeholders and internal teams—including Solutions Architecture, Engineering, UI/UX, QA, Customer Success, and Sales—to deliver complex technical requirements and successfully navigate through User Acceptance Testing (UAT). • Risk Mitigation & Accountability: Oversee the full project lifecycle, implementing robust risk mitigation strategies and maintaining high levels of accountability across all development phases. • Data-Driven Reporting: Leverage enterprise tools (Salesforce, JIRA, Smartsheet, Confluence, PSA software) to maintain precise data integrity, providing executive-level reporting on project health, resource utilization, and financial performance. • Product Subject Matter Knowledge: Develop understanding in Instructure’s product suite to act as part of the strategic advisory team for custom development and services opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • Proven Experience: A minimum of 5+ years as a lead Project Manager in a technical environment, with a demonstrable track record of managing high-stakes, client-facing custom software projects.
  • Methodological Mastery: Expert-level command of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, specifically as applied to fixed-scope/fixed-fee client engagements.
  • Professional Certification: PMP or Scrum Master certifications are preferred.
  • Technical Literacy: Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including experience managing technical integrations involving APIs and LTI standards.
  • AI-Enhanced Execution: A forward-thinking approach to project management, including the practical application of Generative AI tools to automate status reporting, enhance documentation, and improve day-to-day processes.
  • Executive Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical complexities to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making at the executive level.
  • Operational Excellence: High professional stamina with a meticulous eye for detail and the organizational mastery required to navigate complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Collaborative Demeanor: A composed and constructive approach to feedback, with the ability to maintain a positive, high-performance team culture under pressure.
