Job Description

Data and AI/ML Engineer

sedevo IT Consulting GmbH

• With your technical expertise you will accompany the entire development process: from requirements gathering through architecture and implementation to production operation. • In interdisciplinary teams with clients, colleagues and partners you will develop well-founded and sustainable solution approaches. • Regular training and expanding your own skills, including beyond your core area, are part of your daily work. • You will design and implement scalable Data-Lakehouse solutions (e.g. on Databricks) in close collaboration with business and IT stakeholders. • You select appropriate approaches: from classical Machine/Deep Learning to Large Language Models (LLMs) and agent systems, and integrate models into existing data and application landscapes. • You plan and implement data platforms and AI workloads in private and, where applicable, hybrid cloud environments, taking data privacy, compliance and regulatory requirements into account.

Job Requirements

  • Familiarity with terms such as Data Lakehouse, batch and streaming pipelines, automation, orchestration, validation and data modelling — not only in theory but from hands-on project experience.
  • Relevant experience with Databricks and Apache Spark.
  • Experience modelling complex data structures and working with different database technologies.
  • Practical experience in developing and integrating AI models, ideally in production systems.
  • Solid understanding of how AI applications are operated in private cloud environments.
  • Interest in topics such as Explainable AI, agent systems, AI in data engineering, digital sovereignty, and Data/AI governance and compliance — ideally with some practical experience.
  • Treat Data and AI workloads like software products: versioning (code, data, models), reproducible pipelines, testing and monitoring are part of your practice.
  • Ability to navigate a complex technological environment and to continuously provide new impulses.
  • Ideally you have experience working in agile projects (e.g. Scrum).
  • Fluent German and good English skills.

Benefits

  • Fully remote possible — occasional visits to Stuttgart or Leipzig.
  • Your contribution is in demand across different topics without the rigid structures of a large corporation.
  • A friendly working atmosphere, home office, public transit pass (JobTicket) or company bike (Job-Rad), fitness subsidy and regular company and team-building events.
  • A platform to propose ideas, implement them and take on responsibility.
  • Enough time for friends, family and, above all, yourself — with minimal travel requirements.
  • Multiple career paths to suit different ambitions.
  • All the advantages of a small company where every employee is valued and individual contributions matter.
  • Diverse projects with our clients that provide insights into many different corporations and industries.
