Job Description

Staff Software Engineer – Product Platform

DocPlanner

• Design and implement tools, frameworks, and processes that enhance developer productivity and streamline the software development lifecycle • Integrate AI in all of our existing processes to make us faster and more agile • Architect solutions for breaking down monolithic systems into modular, maintainable services • Champion and implement AI-powered tools as productivity multipliers across engineering workflows • Define metrics and track improvements in engineering efficiency, cycle time, and developer experience • Build consensus around engineering standards and best practices that can be adopted company-wide • Collaborate with engineering leaders to identify bottlenecks in development workflows and implement solutions • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in developer experience without waiting for direction • Evangelize engineering experience improvements and share success metrics with the broader organization • Mentor other engineers on software architecture, system design, and development best practices

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience working with on high scale and fault tolerant systems
  • Experience improving CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks
  • Proven track record of creating/implementing development frameworks and tools adopted by multiple engineering teams
  • Strong expertise in service-oriented architecture and microservices design patterns
  • Experience implementing and optimizing developer-focused tools and platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions across engineering teams
  • Deep understanding of software development workflows and how to measure/improve them
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Experience with modern software development practices
  • It's a bonus if: 3+ years focused on engineering productivity and developer tools
  • Experience integrating AI tools into developer workflows (code generation, code review, debugging)
  • Experience in high-growth environments where developer experience was a key priority
