Maker Lab
• Architect and lead the development of high-performance, scalable headless e-commerce storefronts using Shopify • Own the end-to-end deployment pipeline, managing and optimising Hydrogen builds on Shopify Oxygen. • Integrate with Shopify's Storefront API and Admin API, as well as a range of third-party services (e.g., Headless CMS, PIM, ERP, and other marketing tools). • You will be responsible for monitoring and optimising Core Web Vitals, API response times, and the overall user experience. • Work closely with UI/UX designers, product managers, and backend engineers to translate complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions. • Act as a technical leader within the team, mentoring other developers, conducting code reviews, and establishing best practices for Hydrogen development. • Stay on the cutting edge of Shopify's roadmap, prototyping new features and advising on technical strategy.
Job Requirements
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of web development experience, with a significant focus on the Shopify ecosystem.
- Demonstrable, hands-on experience building and launching at least one production-grade application using Shopify Hydrogen.
- Proven experience deploying, monitoring, and managing applications on Shopify Oxygen.
- Deep understanding of headless commerce principles and architecture.
- Expert-level proficiency in React, modern JavaScript (ES6+)/TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Extensive experience consuming and integrating with RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Strong proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with other React frameworks like Next.js or Remix.
- Exceptional verbal and written English communication and presentation skills.
