AWS FinOps Engineer

• Monitor and analyze cloud spend across multiple AWS accounts, identifying cost-saving opportunities through rightsizing, storage optimization, and RI/SP recommendations • Deliver cost dashboards, reports, alerts, and forecasts, supporting monthly spend reviews with Finance and PlatformOps • Ensure accurate cost allocation through tagging standards, account structure governance, and AWS Control Tower best practices • Support day-to-day AWS operations across EC2, RDS, EKS, S3, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch, including patching, scaling, backups, and lifecycle management • Participate in incident troubleshooting where cost, performance, or availability is impacted • Support and automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD to enable reliable deployments • Build automation for cost reporting, usage tracking, and operational tasks using scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code tools • Develop monitoring and observability dashboards, alerts, and runbooks for cost and performance visibility • Partner with security teams to maintain cost-efficient compliance with SOC 2 and ISO 27001
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in FinOps, CloudOps, DevOps, or SRE roles with hands-on AWS operations
- Strong knowledge of AWS services including EC2, RDS, IAM, S3, and CloudWatch
- Demonstrated interest and experience in cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or similar languages
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation tools such as GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Jenkins
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Grafana, Splunk, or OpenTelemetry
- Experience with AWS cost management tools (Cost Explorer, Budgets, Cost & Usage Reports); FinOps platforms are a plus
- Exposure to multi-account AWS governance and regulated environments is desirable
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail in reporting and documentation
- Effective communicator and collaborative team player with a growth-oriented mindset
- Excellent spoken and written English language skills.
