Senior Software Engineer, Backend – Institutional Markets
Coinbase
• Build and enhance services to meet critical product and business needs using Java, Golang and RDS Postgres. • Design scalable high volume and low-latency systems to solve novel problems with modern cloud technology and industry best practices. • Work with other engineers, designers and product managers to turn our product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap every quarter. • Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers. • Maintain production services and Database infrastructure.
Job Requirements
- You have at least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
- You’ve designed, built, scaled and maintained critical low-latency production services, and know how to compose a service oriented architecture.
- You’ve good awareness of at least one of the major SQL or No-SQL databases - Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB; and interest in optimizing and maintaining them.
- You’re passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together.
- Domain experience with crypto, derivatives or other financial products is a nice to have.
- You know what high quality code looks like and know how to foster an environment that maintains a high quality bar.
- Execution focused with an ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Experience architecting complex distributed systems at scale.
- You have built trading systems or matching engines that have high volume and low latency characteristics.
- You have gone through a rapid growth in your company (from startup to mid-size).
- You’ve worked with Java, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka and Postgres.
- You’ve built Ad-Tech, financial and or, SaaS systems.
