Security Sales Engineer

• Act as a trusted technical advisor and the technical win leader in complex security engagements • Work closely with experienced Sales Executives to shape security conversations from early discovery through solution design, RFP defence, and customer handover • Influence architecture decisions, challenge legacy security approaches, and link technical choices to measurable risk reduction and business outcomes • Help customers modernise their security operations using Microsoft Defender and Sentinel as the foundation • Build trusted relationships with CISOs, Heads of IT, and security architects • Translate Microsoft security capabilities into clear operational and business value • Own and drive RFP responses, including customer-facing RFP presentations
Job Requirements
- Strong technical background in cybersecurity, including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Sentinel, and the broader Microsoft E5 Security stack
- Solid understanding of identity security, endpoint security, cloud and network security
- Experience leading customer‑facing technical discussions and workshops
- Familiarity with the UK SOC landscape
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in German (native) and English
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with sales, product and delivery teams
- Willingness to travel for customer engagements and industry events
- Proven experience in a Solutions Engineer / Sales Engineer or comparable customer‑facing technical role in IT security

Prepare and document customer demonstrations as well as formal and informal customer training. - Product Knowledge. Work closely with Engineering and Product teams to maintain a deep understanding of Fortanix products and core technology. - Market Feedback. Continuously gather product and market feedback to guide new products. - Customer Success. Ensure customers are getting the most from their investment in Fortanix, creating strong references, renewals and opportunities for upsell.
