Business Development Manager
ITS
Role Description The Business Development Manager plays a key role in driving new business growth by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities within all ITS market segments. This is a hands-on, full-cycle role requiring both strategic thinking and execution, offering the opportunity to directly impact ITS’s growth and how we continue to build and evolve our business development approach. The ideal candidate will embody the ITS brand, develop a strong understanding of ITS products and services, and engage in consultative conversations with prospective customers to identify needs and align solutions. - Own and manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to opportunity close, while effectively tracking and reporting progress using CRM (Microsoft Dynamics). - Generate and qualify new sales leads for ITS core products via cold outreach, networking, and events, using research to guide strategy and identify growth opportunities. - Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to identify new avenues for business growth. - Conduct needs assessments to understand customers' challenges and objectives, propose tailored solutions to address their unique requirements, and prioritize opportunities based on fit with ITS capabilities. - Develop a deep understanding of ITS solutions to lead early-stage discussions and demos, address customer questions independently, and engage subject-matter experts when appropriate. - Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations to prospective customers, showcasing the value proposition of ITS software and services. - Collaborate cross-functionally and within the Sales and Marketing team to align sales strategies with market feedback, share insights, and collectively drive growth across all segments. - Prepare contract terms and pricing agreements, ensuring favorable outcomes for both the customer and ITS. - Stay informed about ITS’s product suite and advocate for enhancements to solutions, ensuring our solutions remain cutting-edge. - Develop and present compelling status updates for executive briefings internally as required, ensuring the content is strategically aligned with the interests and priorities of ITS senior leadership for informed decision-making. - Serve as a representative of ITS at key industry events and conferences, engaging with industry leaders, connecting with potential customers, and promoting our cutting-edge solutions. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience. - Experience in business development, sales, or a related role. Strong preference for experience selling technology solutions or SaaS products in a B2B environment. - Experience contributing to or managing opportunities through multiple stages of a sales process. - Proficiency in CRM software (e.g. Salesforce, Hubspot, Dynamics) and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events. - Experience in assessment technology industry is strongly preferred. Requirements - Ability to quickly learn and confidently communicate complex products and solutions in a customer-facing context. - Strong consultative selling skills, including active listening, needs assessment, and value-based positioning. - Highly self-directed, with the ability to independently prioritize work, take initiative, and drive progress across multiple responsibilities. - Comfortable operating in a lean, evolving environment with a broad scope of ownership, including but not limited to lead generation, pipeline management & reporting, solutioning, proposal writing, opportunity close, and operational handoffs. - Strong organizational and management skills, with attention to detail and data discipline. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interpret customer needs and develop clear, compelling, and tailored presentations, proposals, and other customer-facing materials using available resources. - Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and strong follow-through. - Sound judgment in evaluating opportunities, including the ability to qualify and disqualify effectively. - Ability to build and nurture client relationships, instilling trust and confidence with customers, and influencing key stakeholders at all levels of an organization. - A collaborative team player who actively contributes to a positive work culture and fosters teamwork.
