D365 Functional Developer

• Implement Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations solutions leveraging standard functionality, configuration, and extensions • Design, develop, and implement integrated D365 F&O solutions and applications alongside the development team • Configure D365 F&O modules to specified requirements (e.g., Finance, Procurement, Inventory, Warehouse, Sales/AR/AP) • Review current extension strategy and environment health and propose best practices and recommendations • Develop and execute plans for scalability, deployment strategy, build pipelines, and source control for D365 F&O solutions • Extend D365 F&O functionality using: X++ extensions, Data entities, Business events, Power Platform integrations • Design and build integrations using D365 F&O integration patterns: OData/REST, Custom services, Data Management Framework (DMF) / recurring imports/exports, Dual-write (when applicable) • Develop and modify existing REST APIs (Node.js, TypeScript, Express) to interface with D365 F&O • Establish data backup, recovery, retention, and audit policies aligned with platform capabilities and company requirements • Create and maintain technical documentation reflecting new capabilities, enhancements, and support procedures • Research complex problems, recommend optimal solutions, and implement changes following best practices and platform guardrails • Build modular, testable solutions; create and maintain automated tests where applicable • Support and maintain solutions, including troubleshooting, defect fixing, and change requests; design and implement sound fixes • Coordinate with Product Delivery and IT Operations teams to deliver and maintain solutions that meet business needs • Provide technical expertise in application architecture, systems design, and ERP business process enablement • Participate in design reviews by providing creative, practical ideas and solutions
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in web application design and development
- Minimum 3 years of experience developing solutions on Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
- Strong experience with D365 F&O development and extension patterns: X++ development, extensions, and best practices
- Data entities, DMF, and data import/export strategies
- OData/REST integrations and service design
- Security roles/duties/privileges and Segregation of Duties concepts (as applicable)
- Experience implementing build/deploy pipelines and source control using Git and Azure DevOps
- Ability to review current solution architecture and improve maintainability, performance, scalability, and supportability
- Breadth and depth of expertise in a technical or functional area; strong understanding of ERP business processes and how technology supports them
- Experience reviewing and improving analytics processes, methods, and tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and security (e.g., data exports, reporting pipelines, KPIs)
- Experience in automotive or leasing industry a plus
