Field Applications Engineer
Cirrus Logic
• Host driver integration of Cirrus CODEC, smart amplifier, and other audio IC products into Windows-based consumer applications (e.g. PC) • Lead the triage and debug of Windows system integration issues on customer PC hardware platforms, working with peers and third parties • Act as the primary technical support contact for major customers on software-related issues, and lead onsite visits as needed • Develop tools and scripts for integration unit testing and stress testing • Define and implement various use-case profiles into host driver platforms • Create technical reports for customers, and document project issues for Cirrus HQ in English
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or above; a Master’s degree is preferred
- Minimum 10 years of Windows driver support experience for IC devices, including at least 3 years of hands-on Windows driver development and maintenance experience; audio domain knowledge is a strong plus
- Extensive project experience with Windows driver integration, PC system bring-up, and a solid understanding of ACPI
- In-depth understanding of Intel and AMD platforms; capable of debugging system-level issues under pressure on customer PC products, and leading technical discussions with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Extensive experience in C software development
- Ability to read and understand basic audio circuit schematics
- Ability to use standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit emulators
- Good verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical topics in live discussions
- Analytical, thorough, resourceful, and detail-oriented

This role is ideal for a skilled Machinist who enjoys traveling, solving complex mechanical problems in the field, and taking ownership of critical, time-sensitive work. You will use large portable machining equipment to perform precision repairs on mission-critical rotating machinery and will supervise small teams to deliver safe, high-quality results. • Provides technical support to both field services and customers involved in the maintenance of equipment. • Installs, troubleshoots problems, and overhauls equipment. • Provides support to customers requiring technical assistance. • Ensures a high level of customer service through effective technical assistance to customers. • Sets up, analyzes/troubleshoots equipment. • Provides instructions to customer personnel on the proper handling and operating procedures of ESP equipment. • Performs scheduled preventive and corrective field mechanical service on gas compression units. • Responsible for submitting accurate maintenance reports, expense reports, timesheets and other necessary paperwork daily.
