Job Requirements

  • Extensive experience working with a leading management consulting firm or working in the industry (e.g. oil and gas, Petrochemical, utilities, transportation and/or heavy manufacturing sectors)
  • Proven experience in leading complex business / operations transformation programs characterized by a high change management component
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills with ability to extensively interact at executive level
  • Strong leadership skills and proven track record in building teams
  • Results-oriented approach and passion for continuous improvement
  • Previous experience in operational excellence or operational risk management programs will be a plus
  • Project management certification (e.g. PMP) will be a plus
  • BS Engineering or equivalent, MBA or MS preferred
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English
  • Ability to travel extensively up to 60 % of monthly time

Role Description The Taxonomy / Ontology Manager (TOM) will guide Airbnb’s Community Support (CS) Taxonomy team to shape and manage scalable taxonomies, ontologies, and other structured data. This role reports directly to the head of Content and Knowledge Management (CKM) and sits within the Service Enablement organization for CS. Working in close collaboration with cross-functional partners, the TOM supports the taxonomist / ontologist function both in CS and across the company, providing guidance and strategic thought leadership across taxonomy, ontology, metadata management, information architecture, and knowledge modeling needs.
