HRIS Workday Functional Support – 3-month contract

Momentum

• Workday Configuration & Optimization: Lead the enhancement of Workday business processes, including condition rules, calculated fields, approvals, and notifications; assess and redesign existing configurations aligned to best practices. • Automation & Process Improvement: Design and implement automation solutions to streamline HR processes, reduce manual intervention, and improve data accuracy and efficiency. • Monitoring General HR Inquiries and action on Workday related tasks, provide best practice recommendations as Workday SME. • Testing & Deployment: Lead/support unit testing, system testing, UAT, and oversee deployment of system changes ensuring accuracy and compliance. • Stakeholder Collaboration & Documentation: Partner with HR and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions; develop and maintain documentation for system configurations and process changes.

Job Requirements

  • Experience leading Workday optimization projects in complex organizations.
  • Experience documenting system governance and change management processes.
  • Advanced Workday configuration (Core HCM, Business Process Framework, Calculated Fields)
  • Workday Reporting and Dashboards
  • Integrations (EIB, Workday Studio – preferred)
  • Data validation and governance practices
  • Process mapping and automation design
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Workday certification(s) in relevant modules (e.g., HCM, Compensation, Reporting, Integrations).
  • Extensive hands-on Workday configuration experience (3-5 years preferred).
  • Proven experience implementing automation and process improvements within Workday.
  • Strong expertise in Workday Business Process Framework, calculated fields, reporting, and integrations.
  • Experience supporting HRMS or People Analytics functions.

Role Description The Senior HRIS Analyst is responsible for the administration, optimization, and continuous enhancement of Wilson Elser’s Workday environment, reporting directly to the Senior HRIS Manager. In this role, you will partner closely with IT, HR, and Finance stakeholders to ensure seamless, secure, and efficient data integration between Workday and external systems. You will play a critical role in maintaining data integrity, strengthening system integration, security and driving process improvements that support the firm’s strategic objectives. Responsibilities - Lead the design, testing, and maintenance of integrations between Workday and other enterprise systems (e.g., ATS, LMS, Benefits, and Identity Management). - Collaborate with IT to manage API-based integrations, SFTP feeds, and middleware tools (e.g., Workday Studio, EIB, or Boomi). - Troubleshoot and resolve data flow or integration issues in collaboration with internal and vendor teams. - Drive automation initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce manual entry, and enhance the employee experience. - Maintain accurate data mapping, documentation, and audit trails for all integrations. - Configure and maintain Workday security roles and permissions based on job functions and business requirements. - Manage security groups, user-based access, and security policies in Workday. - Ensure appropriate security roles and permissions are assigned to users to meet organizational needs while minimizing security risks. - Regularly audit security roles, user access, and data security to ensure compliance with corporate policies and standards. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to user permissions, data security, and system access. - Work with internal and external auditors to support Workday audits or other compliance reviews. - Participate in the testing of Workday enhancements, updates, and new features by developing detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in computer science, technology, operations, or related disciplines. - 5+ years' experience with Workday integration tools, security configurations and role-based access control. - Proven experience with Workday Studio, Workday Core Connectors, EIB, Workday Web Services (WWS), and other integration tools. - Proven experience in configuring Workday security roles, security groups, and permissions. - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure. - Strong attention to detail and data accuracy. - Reliable, consistent, and proactive. - High level of professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive data. Requirements - Familiarity with REST and SOAP APIs, XML, XSLT, and JSON. - Expertise in data transformation, data modeling, Orchestrations and ETL processes within Workday PRISM. - Knowledge of security compliance standards, such as GDPR, and other data privacy regulations. - Experience with Workday benefits and benefit vendors/integrations preferred. - Experience with Workday modules such as HCM, Payroll, Time/Absence a plus. - Interest in exploring capabilities within Workday Extend.
