DevOps Engineer Location: Anywhere in the United States Citizenship Requirement for US Candidates: - Must be a US citizen - Ability to obtain US security clearance About the opportunity The Ceridian Dayforce Release and Configuration Management team is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the Dayforce product line. Dayforce is a comprehensive, modern cloud human capital management (HCM) SaaS product suite and platform for managing the entire employee lifecycle. The DevOps Engineer is responsible for providing configuration management process support and maintaining the infrastructure and tools to enable rapid development and release for all Dayforce software solutions. The DevOps Engineer will collaborate with Development, Support, and Operations throughout the software product lifecycle to ensure high quality deliverables. The Dayforce Release and Configuration Management (RCM) team supports the Dayforce product and development teams as they build, test, and deploy software, to both monolithic and microservices based software. The RCM team does that by defining, managing, monitoring, and reporting on all development/QA environments, software branches, builds, and deployments. The RCM team also builds and maintains tools for use by the team itself as well as by the product and development teams. These tools range from simple PowerShell scripts to monitor server disk space to a self-service Configuration Management Tools Portal. What you'll get to do - Work with all product teams to deliver quality products on time - Take ownership of the integrity of source control and build environments - Maintain and improve the process for releasing builds into QA/DEV/TEST environments - Maintain and improve the process for releasing software to customers including patches and maintenance releases - Manage release and development branches, including tagging and merges, and apply best practices - Maintain and support Development and QA/DEV/TEST infrastructure deployments - Improve build configuration and automation to efficiently manage the release of code - Mentor junior team members on best practices and process improvements - Actively participate in continuous quality improvements in all processes - Actively participate in the Architecture Review Board (ARB) to ensure smooth integration of new projects Skills and experience we value - University degree in Computer Science or related field - Experience with the software development life cycle - Experience working with configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, Puppet) - Experience with build automation tools (e.g. Octopus, PowerShell, Jenkins) - Experience working with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines - Experience with source control management practices and advanced branching techniques (e.g. Git, GitHub, TFVC, BitBucket) - Experience administering application lifecycle management tools (e.g. TFS, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jira) - Proficiency with SQL and an understanding of relational database systems - Experience in defining and improving software build, deployment, and release processes - Experience working in .NET application development - Experience working in Microsoft Azure - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision - Experience working in an Agile development environment - Experience with Server management and Cloud Hosting practices in a Microsoft Environment What’s in it for you Dayforce is fueled by the diversity of our talented employees. Role Description We are looking for a DevOps Engineer Intern who possesses a passion for pushing mobile technologies to the limits and will work with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of our mobile applications. - Design and build advanced applications for the iOS platform - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features - Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability - Work on bug fixing and improving application performance - Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency Qualifications - Must be enrolled in a BS/MS/PhD program in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject at an accredited college - Experience in DevOps Engineering and expertise in the development of mobile technologies - Familiarity with relevant frameworks and languages - Strong work ethic and conviction to work in a demanding startup environment - Experience with third-party libraries and APIs - Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies - Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle Requirements - Compensation: $15-$20 / hr depending on location, previous work experience and qualifications - Minimum Hours: 30-40 hours/week - We are only considering US citizens and Permanent Residents for the role - This is a temporary position between June and August
