Payroll Accountant

• Prepare payroll-related journal entries and record them in NetSuite • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline, researching and resolving variances within 30 days • Accurately reconcile and record payroll-related cash transactions • Prepare monthly payroll accrual and actual payroll expense load files for the GL accounting team • Process biweekly Canadian payroll for two legal entities, ensuring timely delivery and full compliance with all statutory requirements • Reconcile monthly benefits billing statements to internal payroll records, identifying and resolving discrepancies • Support year-end reconciliations, compliance reviews, and other internal audit initiatives as needed

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in payroll accounting, with exposure to both payroll operations and general ledger accounting
  • You're comfortable hitting the ground running in a new environment with minimal ramp-up time
  • You have hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or Blackline, or similar ERP and reconciliation platforms
  • You have a solid understanding of payroll compliance, including US federal and state requirements; Canadian payroll experience is a strong plus
  • You are meticulous about accuracy and take ownership of getting the details right
  • You are a clear communicator who can respond to cross-functional requests quickly and professionally
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; CPA or CPP designation is a plus
