We are looking for a seasoned IT Asset Management (ITAM) specialist to join our Enterprise ITAM organization. This role plays a critical part in integrating newly acquired companies into our enterprise wide ITAM and Software Asset Management (SAM) ecosystem. The selected candidate will lead end to end integration efforts, ensure alignment with enterprise governance, and leverage AI driven capabilities to optimize onboarding and operational efficiency during M&A transitions. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: - Integration & Onboarding (M&A Focus) - Lead the ITAM integration workstream for acquired entities, ensuring alignment with enterprise ITAM and SAM standards - Oversee the onboarding of SAM practices, including license compliance, entitlement ingestion, software lifecycle governance, and data consolidation - Partner with cross functional teams to ensure seamless transition of IT asset data, tooling, and operational processes - AI Driven Optimization - Identify opportunities to apply AI/ML and automation for improving integration speed, accuracy, and scalability - Build and implement AI enabled workflows for data mapping, reconciliation, normalization, and compliance validation - Evaluate emerging AI solutions to enhance both integration and steady state ITAM operations - M&A Assessment & Due Diligence - Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Procurement, Security, and IT teams to evaluate ITAM implications during pre and post acquisition phases - Conduct IT asset and software portfolio assessments for acquired entities, identifying risks, gaps, and remediation plans - Provide executive level insights and recommendations for integration planning - Governance, Risk & Compliance - Ensure adherence to enterprise ITAM policies, global regulatory requirements, and audit frameworks - Track, report, and communicate integration progress, risks, remediation actions, and compliance metrics - Support internal and external audits related to software licensing and IT asset governance - Stakeholder Engagement - Serve as a trusted ITAM advisor to business, technology, and acquisition integration teams - Deliver training, workshops, and guidance to stakeholders from acquired entities to onboard them into enterprise SAM/ITAM practices - Build solid relationships with enterprise IT, architecture, and procurement teams to maintain integration momentum BAU (Business as Usual) ITAM Responsibilities - Operational ITAM & SAM Management - Oversee day to day SAM operations including license allocation, renewals, compliance assessments, and optimization - Maintain accurate inventory for hardware and software assets across the enterprise - Manage entitlements, contracts, and vendor documentation within ITAM repositories and tooling - License Compliance & Optimization - Conduct periodic compliance reviews and true-ups for major software publishers - Identify cost saving opportunities through license rationalization, contract optimization, and usage analytics - Monitor ELP (Effective License Position) for key vendors and ensure continuous compliance - Tooling & Data Management - Ensure data quality by regularly performing normalization, reconciliation, and cleansing activities - Collaborate with IT operations to maintain accurate discovery and automated inventory feeds - Reporting & Insights - Generate regular dashboards and KPI reports on asset usage, compliance, inventory accuracy, and financial impact - Provide business insights to support budgeting, forecasting, and renewal planning - Process Governance - Maintain ITAM standard operating procedures and process documentation - Ensure consistent execution of ITAM lifecycle processes including request, procurement, deployment, retirement, and disposal - Support continuous improvement initiatives to mature enterprise ITAM capabilities You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: - 10+ years of IT Asset Management experience with solid emphasis on Software Asset Management - 5+ years of experience executing ITAM/SAM integration efforts during mergers and acquisitions - 5+ years of experience with ITAM and SAM methodologies and frameworks - 5+ years of experience leading ITAM platforms (Flexera, Snow, or similar) - 5+ years of experience working with AI/ML concepts and their application in ITAM automation and optimization Preferred Qualifications: - Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) - Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) - ITIL Foundation or higher - Proven solid analytical mindset with excellent problem solving abilities - Proven outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills - Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast moving, evolving environment *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
