Job Title: Senior Accountant, Payroll Department: Finance About the Role: The Senior Accountant–Payroll ensures accurate, timely payroll processing. This role also supports various Accounting functions such as General Ledger, T&E and Accounts Payable. Partners with People Ops, and Finance to support compliant processing, tax reporting, and audit readiness, while driving process improvements, strengthening controls, and serving as the payroll accounting and systems subject matter expert. What You'll Do: Accounting Operations - Provide payroll processing (biweekly, semi-monthly, off-cycle) and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations - Manages payroll accounting activities, including payroll accruals, reconciliations, and general ledger alignment by reconciling payroll reports to the general ledger - Execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis. - Supports General Ledger activity including recording journal entries and reconciling bank and credit card transactions - Provide backup support to Accounts Payable and T&E functions where needed - Assist and participate in accurate and timely close of the financial statements in compliance with US GAAP - Perform analytics and variance analysis on financial statements - Focus on the timely and accurate month end close along with GL reconciliations Compliance & Audit Support - Ensure adherence to US GAAP and internal controls. - Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor requests. Process Improvement - Identify opportunities for efficiency in accounting processes and systems. - Maintain, create/improve as necessary, monthly balance sheet subledgers and reconciliations for fixed assets, prepaid assets, deferred liabilities, and other accounts as assigned - Support adoption and optimization of NetSuite and reporting tools. You’re a great fit for this role if: - BA/BS in Finance or Accountancy or related field is preferred - At least 5 years of accounting experience with direct experience in Payroll (required), and preferably in General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Ramp (T&E) - Experience with Google G Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, expert in Excel - Experience with Payroll Systems, preferably working with ADP as 3rd party payment platform - Experience with using ERP software, preferably NetSuite - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Our Mission: Unite Us’ mission is to unlock the potential of every community. Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions: - This position is remote, U.S. based. - The target pay range for this role is: $90,000-$108,000. This salary range represents our target hiring range for this role.
