About the Role: Wing is looking for a Local Policy and Community Affairs Manager, US to join our Government and Community Affairs team based remotely in the Los Angeles, CA and/or Southwest Region of the US to support Wing’s engagement with local policymakers and community members in the United States. In this role you will develop and execute a community outreach strategy in close coordination with the policy, communications, marketing and operations teams. You will regularly engage with members of the community and policymakers and make recommendations on how we can provide a world class service for both our customers, and the larger communities in which Wing operates. What You’ll Do: - Support the Local Policy and Community Affairs team to engage with government officials to develop support for local approvals, as applicable, and keep them updated on Wing’s operations in the areas they represent. - Assist with development and implementation of a cross-functional strategy to engage with the local communities where we operate while aligning community initiatives with our corporate values and business objectives. - Work closely with the marketing and communications team to be aware of ongoing company planning and priorities and to help shape Wing’s narrative both locally and nationally. - Help coordinate/execute community engagement activities on the ground in public and private sector meetings. - Liaise with civic and neighborhood associations, local community groups and nonprofits to collaborate and develop positive relationships with key partners. - Work to connect with the community by organizing visits with schools, STEM and Robotics clubs, aviation clubs and other community stakeholders and leaders. - Assists with local policy issues as needed, such as providing information and/or resources to state and local stakeholders. - Represent Wing at community events and meetings such as: City Council, Planning and Zoning, commission and/or stakeholder meetings. What You’ll Need: - 8+ years work experience in policy, public affairs, communications or community engagement, or equivalent experience - Team player with the ability to exercise good judgment in a rapidly changing environment - Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships internally and externally - Strong verbal and written communications - Experience with developing community engagement strategies around infrastructure projects - Ability to travel domestically for work, as needed - Experience working in or with the local government sector preferred - Experience in the technology, transportation, or aviation sector preferred The US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits. Job Description: Position Summary: Peer Support Network student mentors provide guidance, feedback, and support to mentees, serving variously as role models, coaches, and allies.
