Junior Performance Marketing Manager, Meta & Google Ads

• You independently manage clients' Meta and Google ad accounts and are responsible for their optimization. • Plan, set up, and continuously optimize lead and applicant campaigns on Meta and Google. • Analyze campaign data (e.g., in Meta Business Manager, Google Analytics, or funnel analyses) to identify patterns, correlations, and optimization opportunities. • Conceptualize and create efficient text, graphic, and video content for the channels together with our clients—using creative tools (e.g., Canva). • Support the strategic development of our campaign logic and funnel structures. • Audience analysis: analyze target audiences to understand their needs and interests. • Collaborate with internal experts (e.g., web design). • Create conversion-focused forms: develop forms that motivate users to take the desired action and achieve high conversion rates. • Tracking: clean setup in GA4/GTM, Enhanced Conversions & Consent Mode v2; regular QA of events. • Reporting & actions: weekly analyses (CPL/CPA, lead quality) with clear to-dos and prioritization. • You are the main point of contact for your accounts, proactively advise clients, present results, and drive cross- and upselling opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • Initial practical experience with Google Ads and/or Meta Ads.
  • A degree in marketing, business administration, media, communications, information systems, or a comparable qualification or relevant professional experience is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, strong ownership, and a hands-on attitude.
  • High willingness to learn and motivation to continuously develop your performance marketing skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and initial experience with CRM tools, GA4, GTM, or automations (e.g., Zapier) is desirable.
  • Creativity and confident use of Canva or similar tools to create simple ad designs yourself.
  • Initial experience working with WordPress or Webflow websites or funnel tools is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of online marketing and familiarity with metrics such as CPL, CPA, CTR, CVR, and ROAS.
  • Sense for language and copywriting talent (landing pages, ads, emails).
  • Independent, structured working style and high reliability.
  • Very good German language skills (written & spoken).

The Role: Backcountry is seeking a Paid Search Manager to own the strategy, execution, optimization, and reporting of paid search channels across our multi-brand portfolio. This person will own the strategy, optimization, and reporting of our paid search programs to maximize profitable revenue at or above target ROAS thresholds. You will focus on disciplined testing, smart automation, and granular optimization to ensure every dollar of spend drives incremental, measurable value. This is a highly collaborative execution role with significant impact on revenue, profitability, and new customer acquisition efficiency.
