Role Description The Joseph Maxwell Cleland Atlanta VA Medical Center is recruiting for two Physicians (in the Sleep Medicine Section of the Medical Specialty Clinical Service Line and in the Sleep Medicine Center) and has responsibilities for the delivery of Sleep Medicine services assigned by the Clinical Resource Hub. The incumbent reports to the Specialty Clinical Director, for all clinical, administrative, and quality performance matters. Responsibilities include: - Providing support to National, VISN and Facility Executive Leadership about the CRH program. - Supporting the Specialty Section Clinical Director in the management of complex processes. - Collaborating with different colleagues, services, and program offices throughout the enterprise to ensure relationships between offices as it pertains to Telehealth. - Communicating with all stakeholders including but not limited to: - Primary Care - Ophthalmology - Optometry - Medical Services - Surgical Services - Vision Rehabilitation/low vision - Opticians - Optical staff - Nursing - Prosthetics - Social Work VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. - Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases - Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) - Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA - Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) - Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory - CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) - Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided - Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting Duties include, but are not limited to: - Providing clinical support to all areas of patient care management, and oversight of sleep health, clinical, educational, and research activities at VISN 7 facilities through the Clinical Resource Hub. - Developing care plans according to VA standards of care. - Performing complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures requiring skills and competency, as applicable to the assignment. - Working to improve quality of care and patient safety by achieving excellence in delivery of Sleep Medicine care to patients. - Assisting in improving patient access to care and treatment plan workflows. - Evaluating unscheduled patients. - Ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies. - Participating in quality improvement projects or programs. - Carrying out health promotion and disease prevention activities. - Initiating and expediting requests for consultations and scheduling special tests and studies. - Providing medical education and counseling of patients and their families. - Closing out patient encounters in a timely manner and following current Medical Center guidelines. - Precepting clinical and research training of healthcare students and completing evaluation of such students. - Adhering to customer service standards regarding relationships with management, coworkers, patients, families, and the public. - Following applicable regulations and instructions regarding access to computerized files, release of access codes and protection of sensitive data. - Maintaining professional development by: - Acquiring knowledge and skills to maintain expertise in area of practice. - Sharing medical literature research findings with colleagues to enhance patient care delivery. - Participating in educational activities to improve clinical knowledge and enhance role performance. - Serving as a clinical preceptor to healthcare students, if applicable. - Serving on service level committees or subcommittees when assigned. - Participating in recruiting qualified physicians to perform comprehensive and specialized patient care and teaching. - Providing education about the tele-sleep program to new sites and helping train new staff. - Providing teaching and consultation on staff education and development to VAMC's Tele Sleep clinical staff including residents and fellows. - Providing feedback on sleep protocols and the overall Sleep Medicine process. - Conducting both scientific research as well as systematic quality improvement endeavors. - Being responsible for program evaluations as directed by the Clinical Director, Chief of Staff, Medical Center, VISN or VACO leadership. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Subject to change based on agency needs. Qualifications - Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine. - For foreign medical graduates, verification with the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) is required. - Basic Requirements: - United States Citizenship. - Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. - Residency Training: Completion of residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. - Proficiency in spoken and written English. - Preferred Experience: - Board eligible/certified in Sleep Medicine. - 2 years of clinical experience as a participating Sleep Medicine physician. - Previous work experience in a 1A complexity medical center/hospital. • Serve as OpenAI’s primary on-site hardware contact, collaborating with Oracle teams and vendors to plan and coordinate maintenance, repairs, and lifecycle activities. • Share technical requirements and verify that work performed supports OpenAI’s compute needs and agreed quality targets. • Coordinate schedules, spare-parts planning, and issue escalation with partner teams to minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly. • Work with OpenAI fleet-health engineers to translate software-detected issues into on-site hardware actions in partnership with Oracle. • Track hardware trends and provide joint recommendations with partner teams for design or operational improvements. • Prepare documentation and runbooks that capture joint best practices and can be applied at additional campuses. • Offer technical guidance and context to partner personnel while respecting their operational ownership. • Collaborate with supply-chain teams to plan spares and manage hardware lifecycle activities.
