Generative AI, Prompt Engineering Specialist
Potomac Haven Inc.
• Provide platform, engineering, and enablement services to drive the adoption and utilization of Generative AI capabilities, fostering technological innovation and improving member experience through foundational AI capabilities. • Design, develop and deploy AI solutions with a focus on: clarify the problem, design the approach, write the prompts and prototype quickly. • Curate, process and augment high-quality multimodal data while integrating Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for robust model grounding and improved accuracy. • Implement retrieval-augmented workflows: grounding, chunking, indexing strategies, response synthesis, and guardrails for factuality and tone. • Orchestrate multi-step agents: task decomposition, tool-use design, memory and context strategies, and failure/retry logic for reliability. • Operationalize prompt systems: reusable prompt patterns, role/task separation, evaluation harnesses, and continuous refinement. • Leverage core engineering competencies in GPT algorithms, data ingestion for Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and Natural Language Processing (NLP)/Chatbot interface construction. • Deploy solutions to a shareable environment for stakeholders. • Document decisions: assumptions, risks, test plans, and clear instructions so others can run, test, and extend prototypes. • Translate complex AI behavior into simple narratives and demos. Gather feedback from non-technical stakeholders and close the loop with measurable improvements.
Job Requirements
- About 3 years building AI-powered products or prototypes with hands-on ownership from concept to demo.
- Proven track record of use of GenAI Copilot, ChatGPT, Anthropic to drive productivity initiatives across the organization with clear value metrics.
- Hands-on experience building production grade AI agents using industry leading platforms.
- Demonstrated excellence in prompt writing across text, image, and multimodal use cases.
- Strong grasp of RAG, agentic methods, and iterative evaluation.
- Hands-on experience to drive model accuracy, minimize hallucinations, and ground the model in facts, specifically when building AI agents.
- Degree in the field of AI or similar (Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or related technical field).
- Prior work experience in consulting or advisory services.
- Should be ready to demonstrate skills and competency during the interview process.

• Act as a technical expert/resource for the team and business partners while leading the analysis, design and development of high volume, low latency applications for mission critical systems delivering high-availability and performance to best meet customer needs. • Independently write well designed, testable, efficient code to support varied and highly complex IT solutions • Provide technical leadership to other IT specialists to rapidly develop and deliver stunning solutions that meet changing business needs. • Perform all necessary discovery and fact finding to fully understand highly complex business problems and opportunities and independently execute all assignments. • Evaluate options to provide solution buy vs. build recommendations to management. • Independently analyze and recommend solutions to development and production issues while effectively communicating to the project team, applicable vendors and/or the manager in a timely manner. • Research and stay abreast of technology trends and IT best practices, with a focus on continuous learning and possible application to the business. • Regularly act in a project lead capacity and/or represent the department on enterprise-wise project teams. • Provide direction and assistance to less experienced team members and may oversee or coordinate work efforts as needed. • Assist management with employee development initiatives, including training.
• Evaluate and support complex IAM and technology issues while pursuing opportunities for internal control improvement • Design, develop, configure, and maintain SailPoint IdentityNow • Implement new SailPoint Connectors and perform other SailPoint enhancements as required • Work with business teams and subject matter experts to identify and document IAM-related business needs, including access needs, and access profiles • Lead implementation of IAM related technology and enhancements • Scope and design provisioning and recertification-related business process and workflow design/redesign efforts • Monitor IAM services, including applications and systems, and resolve or escalate issues • Provide coverage and support for the IAM service and act as a technical resource • Work in a distributed team environment where team members are spread across numerous locations and often communicate virtually to support IAM activities • Produce and provide metrics and reporting as required • Recommend and/or coordinate the application of fixes, patches, and updates assessed to be important to the security of the enterprise • Research emerging IAM technologies in support of enhancement and development efforts • Perform project leadership tasks on select security projects and other IT projects requiring security integration and coordination • Perform any other job related instructions as requested
• Conduct work flow study and analyze business practices: Document existing processes related to IT solutions. • Perform application lifecycle activities, including: Code, monitor, maintain, test and debug software applications; follow established change management processes; facilitate code reviews; develop test plan development; make recommendations for hardware/software solutions. • Provide support: Create, document, schedule and support operational activities; coordinate with software vendors and external service providers; troubleshoot software bugs and provide fixes; provide off hours support, as needed. • Provide, cultivate and foster excellent customer service; promote adherence to departmental standards; act as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff. • Perform other duties as assigned.
