Stukent

Description Location: While this role is open to remote candidates in states where we operate, preference will be given to applicants based in Utah, Idaho, and Kentucky. The Role As a Senior Product Designer at Stukent, you'll be a key contributor to shaping how students and instructors experience our platform. You'll work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to lead design from early discovery through to polished delivery, bringing clarity to complex problems and crafting experiences that are both beautiful and functional. How We Work Stukent's Product Technology organization is composed of multiple highly-empowered teams. Each team operates with its own Product Manager, Product Designer, and Software Engineers. Designers have real ownership and a direct seat at the table alongside engineering and product from day one. We follow agile methodology, with tight feedback loops and collaborative sprint cycles. This role reports to the Director of Product Design. Our design team is actively working to converge our product surfaces into a unified design system. There is a meaningful foundation in place, and this role will play a significant part in shaping and maturing that system going forward. What You'll Do - Own the end-to-end design process, from research, user flows, and wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes and production-ready specs. - Partner closely with product managers and engineers throughout discovery and delivery to ensure design intent is realized in the final product. - Contribute to and help evolve Stukent's design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and accessibility across all product surfaces. - Design for Accessibility from the start, championing inclusive design and aligning all work to WCAG standards. - Communicate design rationale clearly to cross-functional stakeholders, and confidently advocate for user needs in product discussions. - Identify UX debt and systemic design opportunities, and help prioritize and address them strategically. - Mentor and provide thoughtful feedback to other designers on the team, helping to raise the overall quality of design work. - Balance speed with craft, knowing when to move fast and when to slow down and get it right. Requirements Minimum Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in a Product Design, UX Design, or equivalent role. - Proven ability to work autonomously across the full design lifecycle, from research to implementation. - Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including components, variables, and maintaining design system consistency. - A strong portfolio demonstrating complex problem-solving, clean visual design skills, and measurable business and user impact. - Solid working knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and a track record of creating inclusive, compliant product experiences. Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field. - Experience designing for educational platforms, learning management systems, or other learning-focused products. - Strong handle on web application development, including HTML and CSS fundamentals. Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks is a plus. - Familiarity with token-based design systems and how they translate to front-end implementation. - Experience building or significantly contributing to a design system from early stages. This role owns the evolution of our design system, making it legible, well-organized, and AI-ready, while also pushing our visual language forward. You'll design high-fidelity, customer-facing experiences that help homeowners navigate a consequential financial decision, working closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers. - Evolve and maintain our design system so it's well-organized, consistently documented, and structured for AI tooling: clean naming conventions, clear token architecture, and patterns that are easy to consume programmatically. - Advance our visual language, raising the quality bar on typography, color, spacing, and component design across the product. - Design high-fidelity, customer-facing product experiences that help homeowners understand our product, build trust, and move forward with confidence. - Create and refine reusable components and patterns that improve consistency and efficiency across the product. - Create thoughtful illustrations, diagrams, and visual assets that clarify complex concepts and enhance the customer experience. - Prepare implementation-ready design artifacts, including interaction details, states, and edge cases. - Partner with engineering through implementation, reviewing shipped work, catching gaps, and making sure design quality holds in production. - Design variants and refinements for experimentation, informed by product data and research. Qualifications - 5+ years as a product designer with a strong visual design and design systems focus. - A portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual craft—typography, color, composition—in shipped product work. - Hands-on experience building or significantly owning a design system. - Familiarity with how design systems intersect with AI tooling. - Fluency in Figma, including variables, component architecture, and auto layout. - Experience working in cross-functional teams with product managers and engineers. Benefits - Generous health benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans with options for flexible spending accounts (FSA) and health savings accounts (HSA). - Unlimited paid time off: Recharge with unlimited paid time off and 10 company holidays. - Flexible remote and onsite work: Support for fully remote work and an amazing in-person environment in our downtown Palo Alto, CA HQ. - Fully paid parental leave: Supplement state Paid Family Leave (PFL) so employees receive 100% of their regular base pay, plus two additional weeks of fully paid leave after state PFL ends. In states without PFL, Point offers up to 8 weeks of paid parental leave. - Equity: Meaningful equity because we believe in sharing the value you help create. - Financial wellness: 401K retirement plans for employees as well as guaranteed life insurance and short- and long-term disability coverage. - Extra work/life benefits: Monthly stipends for internet, mobile plans, wellness perks, a one-time home office reimbursement, and company provided equipment including a MacBook and monitor.
