Senior Platform Engineer – Kubernetes, Linux
Glückliche Gäste GmbH
• Operation, further development and securing of multiple Kubernetes clusters running on virtual machines • Responsibility for Linux-based systems: physical servers, virtual machines and NAS devices • Build and maintain a stable, maintainable and auditable platform landscape • Automate operational, deployment and maintenance processes (Bash is required; additional tools welcome) • Establish security-by-design: system hardening, access concepts, secrets management, logging, monitoring and traceability • Technical implementation of requirements from C5 and ISO 27018: translating standards into concrete technical controls • Build audit-ready structures, documentation and evidence • Incident handling in the infrastructure context (2nd-level), including analysis and sustainable remediation • Close collaboration with external security and compliance partners • Continuous improvement of the stability, security and transparency of our systems
Job Requirements
- Several years of experience operating complex Linux infrastructures
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments
- Deep understanding of Linux systems, networking and storage
- Excellent Bash skills and a clear automation mindset
- Solid knowledge of IT security, e.g.: system and network hardening, access control and identity concepts, logging, monitoring and incident response
- Experience or strong interest in security and compliance topics such as C5, ISO 27018 or comparable standards
- Ability to pragmatically and technically implement security and compliance requirements
- Structured, responsible working style — you build systems to withstand an audit
- Enjoy building things cleanly from the ground up and operating them long-term
- Very good German language skills
