Segment Manager – Energy/Electrical Utilities
Amphenol TPC Wire & Cable
• Conduct TAM/SAM analysis to identify market expansion and product portfolio opportunities. • Work to achieve sales targets, revenue goals, and market share objectives. • Identify new customer acquisition targets to drive market penetration beyond existing account base. • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders within the vertical. • Act as a trusted advisor by understanding client needs and providing tailored solutions. • Lead negotiations and close high-value deals with strategic accounts. • Indirectly lead a sales team, setting clear performance expectations and goals. • Work collaboratively with existing sales reps on opportunities • Provide ongoing training and support to enhance team skills and performance. • Collaborate with sales, marketing, product development, and other internal teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution of initiatives. • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to enhance brand visibility and credibility. • Serve as the subject matter expert for the assigned segment, providing insights and recommendations to leadership. • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipelines using CRM tools. • Identify and prioritize new market opportunities to expand the company’s footprint. • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market feedback, and competitor activity. • Ensure compliance with company policies and sales best practices. • Identify new product opportunities to meet customer specific needs and expand product offerings.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years outside sales experience in the Electrical Utility segment.
- Previous experience managing a vertical industrial market preferred
- Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with key distribution partners.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales objectives
- Strong communication, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to sell value (total cost of ownership) vs price
- Bachelor’s degree in business, industrial distribution, engineering/technology or related degree or equivalent experience preferred
