Job Description
DevOps Engineer
TIMOCOM
• As a DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) on the DevEx team, you will help us continuously improve our Internal Developer Platform (IDP). • Your goal is to make developers' day-to-day work more efficient through automated processes and streamlined workflows. • You will support the rollout of new features and learn how to sustainably remove friction points in software delivery. • Depending on your place of residence, you will either work together with your team at the headquarters in Erkrath twice a week or you will have the option to work up to 100% remotely. • You will contribute to implementing self-service capabilities within our Internal Developer Platform and to building CI/CD pipelines in GitLab. • You will also support the adoption of modern deployment workflows using ArgoCD. • Together with your team, you will support development teams in taking responsibility for their services — from code commit to operation in the cluster. • In addition, you will automate application deployment with Helm. • You will learn best practices in cloud-native development and apply them under guidance in real projects. • You will contribute to the continuous improvement of developer-journey tools and assist with technical questions.
Job Requirements
- You have completed a technical apprenticeship, hold a degree in computer science, or have already gained initial practical experience in a DevOps environment or in software development.
- You have had first exposure to tools such as GitLab CI, Docker or Kubernetes and are keen to deepen your knowledge in ArgoCD, Helm and Terraform / OpenTofu.
- You are highly motivated to learn and willing to work with complex cloud infrastructures.
- You enjoy working in a team, are service-oriented and take pleasure in simplifying processes through automation.
- Ideally, you have an interest in cloud technologies and want to develop into an expert in this area.
- To ensure good communication within your team, you have very good German skills (C1) and good English skills (B2).
Benefits
- Your working hours and location are as flexible as you are: you can use our modern multispaces, work on the go or remotely.
- Through hybrid collaboration we promote direct exchange.
- You can work from abroad for up to 120 calendar days per year as part of a workation — allowing you to extend your vacation or visit family and friends abroad.
- On our internal learning platform you can choose from more than 20,000 offerings.
- Thanks to development plans with concrete content, you can easily plan your professional development.
- Your health matters to us: we offer health initiatives and after-work activities such as an individual stress check, back-care classes or a running group.
- We think environmentally: you can lease an e-bike or bicycle. Alternatively, we are happy to support you with a discounted job ticket or a commuting allowance.
- We take care of your children: we offer daycare places in Erkrath and parent-child offices at our head office.
- Working with us means cooperation and collaboration on an equal footing — we are team players because we know what we can achieve together.
