This role encompasses preparing and analyzing financial statements, handling payroll, generating financial reports, and managing all bookkeeping duties to ensure accurate and compliant financial records. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare, maintain, and analyze financial statements and management accounts. - Perform full bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management. - Processing monthly payroll. - Generate, review, and present financial reports to management and stakeholders. - Oversee cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting. - Uphold compliance with regulatory bodies. - Implement and maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures. - Support month-end and year-end close processes. - Assist with any ad-hoc financial analysis or projects as required. Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (BCom preferred). - 5+ years of experience as a Managerial Accountant or in a similar management accounting role. - Solid knowledge of accounting principles and payroll processing. - Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar). - Strong Excel and reporting skills. - Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills. - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Gilbarco Veeder-Root (GVR) is seeking a strategic, hands-on finance leader who sees accounting as more than number‑crunching — it’s an engine for identifying business opportunities and driving better decisions. Reporting to the North American Controller, you will lead accounting operations, strengthen controls and compliance, and partner with business leaders to improve financial performance and operational efficiency. The Sr. Accounting Manager at GVR will report directly to our North American Controller. This is a remote position; however, candidates will be expected to visit our Greensboro and Raleigh, NC locations regularly. Key responsibilities • Lead the execution of the monthly financial close process including review of journal entries, oversight of account reconciliations, and review of account fluctuations from historical actuals and forecast • Prepare financial information for consolidation into overall GVR and Vontier results • Lead the successful completion of internal/external audits and SOX compliance • Lead the implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls, procedures, and remediation plans • Partner with other GVR team members to ensure all processes are appropriately documented and accounting policies and procedures are followed • Proactively seek opportunities to improve financial performance through reduced business expense, improved cash flow, and near & mid-term business decisions. • Drive a myriad of process improvement initiatives focused on the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function at GVR by eliminating lower value, manual processes through simplification and root cause investigation • Develop and coach junior team members • Liaise with other functions to grow accounting mind share with key stakeholders and find resolutions beneficial for both the business and the accounting operations • Lead ASC606 deferred revenue review and recognition What we’re looking for (qualifications) • Accounting (or finance) undergraduate degree; CPA required • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience preferred, ideally in a manufacturing environment. • Experience managing 3-5 direct reports • Ability to understand balance sheet accounts, their relationship with the P&L and business activities to ensure that accounting transactions comply with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) • Proven professional with understanding of accounting theory, current accounting issues, and accounting systems.
