IT Support Specialist

We are seeking a client-focused Help Desk Technician (Level 1–2) to provide remote IT support for a growing portfolio of users. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys solving day-to-day technical issues while delivering an excellent customer experience via phone and email. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth IT operations by troubleshooting, documenting, and resolving user issues efficiently. Duties / Task to perform - Serve as the primary point of contact for user issues via phone and email - Troubleshoot and resolve end-user issues related to Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive/SharePoint, password resets, mailbox updates) - Provide support for Windows 10/11 devices, applications, user profiles, and printers - Assist with remote access and basic network troubleshooting (DNS, DHCP, WiFi, VPN) - Set up and configure devices for new users (laptops, workstations, peripherals) - Document all troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and updates in the ticketing system - Escalate complex issues to senior technicians with clear documentation - Follow SOPs and service workflows to meet response and resolution targets - Communicate proactively with users regarding ticket status, timelines, and next steps

Job Requirements

  • 1–3 years of IT support experience (preferably in a multi-client or MSP environment)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Windows 10/11 troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive/SharePoint, MFA basics)
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, gateways, WiFi, VPN)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with strong phone presence
  • Strong written English skills for documentation and ticket updates
  • Ability to manage multiple tickets, prioritize effectively, and follow through to resolution
  • Customer-first mindset with a professional and personable approach
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits
  • Ability to work independently and follow structured processes

The Position: The IT Manager, Transportation Applications, reporting to the Director of IT Workplace Technology Support, oversees Barrett’s transportation and logistics systems, including applications, automations, integrations, and ongoing development. This role manages vendor relationships and the internal transportation development team while partnering with the transportation department to plan, implement, optimize, and maintain transportation technology, projects, and system requirements. This position works Monday through Friday, from 8am-5pm. The compensation range for this position is $120K-$140K, depending on experience. Your Day-to-Day: - Lead a remote, multi-disciplinary team in planning and executing Barrett’s transportation technology strategy and initiatives. - Oversee Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and related logistics platforms, including parcel shipping, reverse logistics applications, and integrations. - Manage vendor relationships to ensure high levels of service, responsiveness, and business support. - Lead system upgrades, redundancy initiatives, integrations, and process automation projects. - Oversee the Transportation Development team’s Service Desk queue, ensuring SLA compliance, issue communication, and proper escalation. - Ensure timely, accurate resolution of issues with appropriate documentation in IT Service Desk tools. - Serve as a subject matter expert in: - ProShip parcel systems, rate shopping, label requirements, carrier integrations, and returns processing - Transportation regulations and compliance standards - Salesforce case and issue management tools - Ensure documentation and technical specifications meet departmental standards. - Partner with internal teams to improve existing systems and develop new processes. - Define, monitor, and communicate KPIs for transportation technology initiatives. - Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain high-performing team members through coaching, mentoring, and career development planning. - Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide timely feedback, and address performance issues in alignment with company policies. - Set clear goals for team members and support ongoing training and development. - Conduct regular team and one-on-one meetings and communicate company updates (GGOB). - Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. - Perform additional duties and projects as assigned. What You Bring to the Table: - Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or related field required. 8+ years of equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. - Eight (8)– Ten (10) years of experience in IT, transportation technology, or 3PL environments including a minimum of Three (3) years of leadership experience. - Experience with transportation and logistics software platforms deployed in cloud environments (AWS or similar). - Hands-on experience with software development methodologies. - Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new technologies quickly. - Strategic and innovative thinker with the ability to challenge existing processes and drive transformation. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex concepts into terms and format appropriate for the audience. - Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines. - Comfortable enforcing internal standards when required.
