VAS Engineer – Signature

AppLogic Networks

• Perform daily monitoring and testing of critical applications, system health, logs, and alarms with a strong sense of urgency when issues arise • Investigate critical application traffic and detect problems using tools such as traffic sniffers, simulators, MRTG, PRTG, SNMP polling, and log analysis • Work on deployed solutions to identify grey critical apps/protocol traffic and design new solutions for monitoring and detection • Lead discussions and analysis with cross-functional departments to solve and prevent issues before they impact customers • Provide knowledge transfer and technical guidance to customers, empowering them to better understand and leverage AppLogic Networks solutions • Serve as the primary liaison between customer operations and AppLogic Networks' Customer Support, Account Management, and engineering teams — managing escalations, status updates, and resolution timelines • Work directly with equipment and tools as needed, supporting team members across a cross-functional environment

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another STEM discipline
  • Minimum 5 years in a technical role
  • Strong command of Unix-based operating systems (Linux, FreeBSD, etc.)
  • Proficiency in programming or scripting languages (Java, C/C++, Python, Perl, etc.)
  • Hands-on expertise with packet-level debugging tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, tcpreplay, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of web application concepts including P2P, VoIP, WAP, MMS, and RTSP
  • Deep knowledge of networking and IP-related technologies
  • Experience in Quality Assurance testing
  • Strong background in VoIP, IPTV, and video streaming protocols and architecture
  • Thorough understanding of end-to-end network call flows and relevant protocols (DHCP, RADIUS, DIAMETER, GRE, SIP, RTP, MGCP, H.323, RTCP)
