Delivery Manager

Axsium

Role Description The Delivery Manager reports into the Managing Director APAC and is accountable for the successful delivery of a portfolio of client projects, combining hands-on project management with delivery leadership, direct people management, and client engagement. The role provides direct ownership of selected client projects while also acting as a people leader for assigned team members (e.g., Project Managers and Consultants), supporting their performance, development, and wellbeing. Duties and Responsibilities - Client Management - Act as a senior delivery contact for assigned clients, building strong and trusted relationships. - Personally manage one or more client projects, acting as Project Manager with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and outcomes. - Provide regular project and portfolio updates, including progress, risks, issues, and mitigation actions. - Lead delivery-related escalations and conflict resolution, escalating to the Delivery Director where required. - Support sales-to-delivery transition activities to ensure clarity of scope and alignment of expectations. - Delivery Leadership - Provide oversight across multiple concurrent projects and workstreams to ensure delivery is on time, within scope, and to agreed quality standards. - Direct and guide project teams, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and objectives. - Proactively identify delivery risks, dependencies, and resource constraints, implementing mitigation strategies. - Conduct delivery and quality reviews to ensure alignment with Axsium methodologies and standards. - Coach and mentor Project Managers and delivery team members, supporting professional development and performance. - Provide ongoing feedback to team members and contribute to performance review inputs for those you manage, partnering with HR and Delivery Leadership as required. - People Management - Directly manage assigned team members, setting clear goals and expectations and supporting day-to-day delivery performance. - Conduct regular 1:1s, provide timely feedback and coaching, and support career development plans aligned to capability needs. - Lead performance review inputs for direct reports (including utilisation and delivery quality), and partner with HR and Delivery Leadership on performance management where required. - Support onboarding of new team members, ensuring they are set up with the required tools, context, and project assignments. - Assist with hiring by participating in interviews and providing recommendations, as requested. - Sales Support - Partner with Sales Executives and Delivery Directors to support account growth and client expansion opportunities. - Participate in sales pursuits with new and existing clients as a delivery subject matter expert. - Provide delivery input into proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), estimates, and pricing models. - Support solutioning discussions and client presentations to ensure delivery feasibility and alignment. - Financial Responsibility - Ensure projects meet budgeted billable hours, margin, and utilization targets. - Maintain financial oversight for directly managed projects, including forecasting, budget tracking, and change control. - Support portfolio-level utilization and resourcing decisions in collaboration with Delivery Leadership. - Identify and support delivery-led opportunities to improve commercial outcomes. Qualifications - Extensive experience delivering large and complex Workforce Management or Productivity projects. - Proven experience managing projects directly while overseeing broader delivery portfolios. - Strong leadership, risk management, and stakeholder engagement skills. - Proven experience in direct people management, including coaching, performance feedback, and supporting development plans. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at multiple levels. - Ability to balance hands-on delivery responsibilities with leading and developing people and maintaining commercial accountability.
