• Leadership over the development of core application experiences that increase the utility and emotional resonance of Life360 for millions of members. Interest in leading scrum meetings, helping EM & PM with roadmap planning, and writing code alongside other Android engineers. • Collaborate with Design and Product to evolve how members move through and experience the app, from onboarding to daily use, ensuring fast, intuitive, and delightful interaction patterns • Design and develop reusable, high-performance components and tools that unlock faster experimentation, iteration, and cross-team collaboration • Champion engineering excellence, app performance, quality, and reliability, particularly in the context of complex, global, location and safety-focused mobile applications
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building consumer-facing Android applications at scale, ideally for high-MAU products
- Deep expertise in Kotlin and modern Android development (Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Architecture Components
- Track record of building and leading complex UI systems with a focus on performance, modularity, scalability, and accessibility
- Hands-on implementation using feature flagging, experimentation and launch control platforms for safely scaling feature changes
- Strong understanding of app architecture, lifecycle management, dependency injection, and navigation paradigms
- Test automation experience using frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, and Espresso
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- History of driving fast pace projects to completion on time
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
