Business Segment Manager

Role Description This role is a replacement of an internal promotion. We are currently recruiting a Business Segment Manager to lead our Bakery & Bars business segment. This role is a key contributor to the Food and Nutrition Group’s leadership team, providing strategic direction and driving growth across the segment. The Business Segment Manager (BSM) role is a highly customer and industry focused position, responsible for inspiring and leading the development and execution of the business segment’s strategic and financial plans for the markets, customers, and geographies. Reporting to the Business Director - Canada, the Business Segment Manager – Bakery, Bars, Snacks and Cereal, will be responsible for leading a team of talented commercial individuals focused on servicing, delivering value and driving business growth, specifically in the Bakery, Bars, Confectionary, Cereals and Snack markets, within Canada. - Accountable for the achievement of all sales, GM $, GM % associated within the assigned segment. - Work in cooperation within the Group towards the achievement of business cash flow objectives. - Shared P&L responsibilities (with the Business Director) for the assigned segment, including expense budgeting and approvals. - Lead and inspire a talented sales team, composed of Senior Account Managers, Account Managers and Sales Representatives. - Demonstrate strong, engaging leadership by recruiting, developing, coaching, and mentoring a high-performing sales team. - Set clear sales objectives, monitor performance metrics, and conduct regular performance reviews. - Develop and execute industry focused strategic growth plans for the industries within the assigned segment. - Engage with strategic and pillar suppliers to align on growth ambitions and opportunity pipelines. - Own and elevate the ease of doing business for our customers by removing barriers and enhancing processes. - Identify product line gaps and work in partnership with the Director of Product Marketing to evaluate and onboard new suppliers. - Build and maintain a robust opportunity pipeline across each of the relevant industries. - Provide initial review of all customer contracts recommended for execution. - Act as an active leader and participant in related industry events and associations. - Leverage digital/content/brand marketing tools to support strategic growth. - Influence concept development and application work for the segment. - Elevate and advocate for administrative and support services involved in their segment. - Act as a visible role model of Quadra’s Core Values. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Science or other related area. - Minimum 10-15 years of proven experience in the Canadian food ingredient industry. - Market knowledge of the assigned industries within the segment. - Proven leadership experience with a track record of building, developing, and managing high-performing teams. - Demonstrated success in business-to-business (B2B) sales. - Prior Product Marketing or Marketing experience, and R&D or Technical experience, are considered strong assets. - Excellent communication and presentation skills. - Recognized strength in coaching, motivating, and inspiring teams. - Skilled negotiator with the ability to navigate complex discussions. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Driven, with strong business acumen and commercial sense. - Proficient analytical skills. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and CRM tools such as Salesforce. - Creative, innovative and proven strategic thinker. - Strong self and time management skills. - Valid passport and driver’s license, with a willingness to travel up to 35%.
