Senior Construction Project Manager
CHS Inc.
• Lead the planning, development, and execution of multiple capital construction projects simultaneously. • Develop, review, and manage approved project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and budgets. • Coordinate contractor bidding, selection, and contract execution. • Maintain accurate construction records and databases for active and completed projects. • Conduct inspections and oversee construction activities to ensure work meets approved plans, specifications, and quality standards. • Monitor job sites to ensure safe construction practices are followed, work aligns with project schedules, and contractors meet contractual scope and quality requirements. • Manage change orders and resolve construction issues to minimize schedule and cost impacts. • Ensure projects comply with CHS standards, local building codes, and regulatory requirements. • Lead and coordinate engineering and safety resources across civil, mechanical, structural, electrical and equipment specifications. • Collaborate with engineers, manufacturers, vendors, utilities and local officials. • Provide technical insight to challenge designs, recommend alternatives, and improve building processes. • Lead compliance efforts related to CHS Environmental, Health & Safety standards. • Identify and communicate site hazards and address unsafe conditions. • Negotiate pricing, equipment discounts, and service terms.
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- 7+ years of experience in construction or agricultural industries with demonstrated project leadership responsibility.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and equipment used in commercial and industrial facilities
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with complex stakeholder groups
- Understanding of OSHA 1910, OSHA 1926, and NFPA standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CAD software
- OSHA 20-hour certification
- Experience in grain, agronomy, energy, or manufacturing facility construction
- Prior experience as an engineer, architect, or construction manager in large, multi-site operations
- PMP Certification preferred.
